I thought I'd ask those of you who have gotten a puppy from me...how is the shedding issue with these guys.? Do they shed some and or none? And any of you who have allergies, have they bothered your allergies at all?
Hi....as far as shedding goes...there isn't any...! When I brush kodiak there is just a small amount of "fuzz" in the slicker brush....I am guessing it's a puppy undercoat of some sort.....My older son who is extremely allergic to dog hair has had NO problems with her Doodle hair....He calls her the "magic hair" dog......I am so happy we found a breed with such wonderful hair....!
Giada does not shed at all. She has started to get her adult coat, so we see pupy fur balls around--but I would not call that shedding, and I expected that. We do have allergies, and she does not bother us at all--I can even rub my face in her fur, and I am fine:)
Ginger doesn't shed. Her very fine puppy coat is all but gone. The only problem was with matted hair. I trimmed her with grooming shears down to about 3/4" and cut out all the matts. This exposed a beautiful wavy golden coat. It's also more comfortable for her in the summer to be cut shorter. I'm glad that I learned how to use dog clippers. With these dogs....regular grooming is a must!
Gus sheds minimally. It's more noticeable when he is wet, and it sticks to my hands, but I never find it on the furniture or day to day clothes. He's a intermittent shedder!
Marley has started to shed this winter. Not individual hairs that wind up on your dinner plate, which is a good thing. She looses balls of fur that are easy to pick up. Her coat has changed quite a bit so perhaps this is just a phase.
