Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi

Has anyone used TOTW can food as a food topper?  We are now feeding TOTW kibble and our doodles are doing great however I like to add food toppers ~ usually use boiled chicken, pumpkin, green beans, salmom, Tripett green tripe...etc. and I just found a coupon for a trial can of TOTW and thought I would give it a try.

They also are getting salmon oil on their morning meal.  Just wondering if anyone likes or dislikes the TOTW can foods.

Thanks,

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

Although I can't help with your question, I'm happy to read that your doodles are doing well on TOTW kibble.  My 7mo old doodle just decided this week that she no longer likes the food I've been feeding her (Blue Buffalo Large Breed Puppy).  I went to the local health food store and TOTW was one of the samples they gave me and recommended.  She seems to like it the best out of all of them and I really like the ingredients and the fact that it's grain free.

I do also add some pumpkin and recently the Nupro Supplement which she seems to love.  Curious to see what replies you get because the canned version may be a good topper for my pup too.

Best of luck!

Michelle

The TOTW canned food is fine. I haven't used canned foods, but would have no problem trying TOTW if i needed one for topping kibble, especially since you're already feeding their kibble and it agrees with them.

I currently use TOTW canned foods for both of my dogs and my foster doodle.  They all love it and so far no problems with it not agreeing with them.  I quit using the fish flavored one, couldn't stand the fishy smell on their breath but they liked it.

The fish and High Prairie Formula (bison/venison) are the only ones I tried due to some possible food allergies my dogs have.  I give it a thumbs up!

We have used TOTW canned as a topper in the past (but now Cubbie has learned to eat the plain TOTW kibble) and didn't have any problems.

I tried to give Zoe TOTW canned food and she refused it (she is picky, so maybe your doodle will be fine) - the canned food is not your regular paste-like canned food but it's chunks in sauce (hope I remember it right).  She did not like the sauce at all.  I tried to separate the meaty chunks, rinsed them and she ate them but not with the sauce...

Harley has been on TOTW since he was a few months old.  Has done great, but recently has gone into a food funk....skipping meals, has even gone all day without eating.  We added the can to his kibble thinking surely he can't turn his nose up to that....well we were wrong.
