Amante and I have been practicing for our CGC certificate. Our test day comes and Amante does fantastic almost perfect!!!!  Only one issue was during the separation exercise, he wined a little. The lady who conducted the class was surprised by this, he was usually fine during this exercise. They decided to pass him. A group of the other pet owners were all telling Amante he was a Mamma's boy. Mamma's boy!!! I had hurt feelings. I know that Amante is attached, but I didn't like the way they were saying it. I know Amante sensed my frustration and this may be silly,  but I think that he understood I was not happy.  I think I should mention that Amante and I never really felt welcome in this group. He is a "mutt"  and they are purebreds!!  In the beginning , I had doubts that he might not pass. He was easily startled and would hide behind me. Comments were made that he would never pass. I knew he could do it and we practiced. I want to write it off as them just being jealous. I wish that I would of spoke up and just tell them off.

My question Should I be concerned? Should my feelings be hurt?

Congratulations on passing. Your feelings are what they are, no shoulds about them. But the good news is that you are rid of those silly snobs. Certainly no need to be concerned.

I guess I am worried that he is to attached to me. He is my baby!!!

He is doing what is natural to him.

Congratulations on Amante passing!!!  So he is attached to you...so what?  I love the fact we have such loving and devoted Doodles.  There is nothing wrong with that in my book.  The others were jealous and snobs.  Our Gracie Doodle is attached to us but is also very independent and feels very secure in who she is.  She loves us and always stays with us when we go anywhere.  She is perfect just the way she is!

He passed and that is what counts! Congratulations!

You are wonderful! Don't you worry for one second what anyone else thinks. Just go on and celebrate this wonderful accomplishment!

Blow it off!!  He passed and that's all that counts! Tell them "Boo-ya!"  haha

I say, you and Amante showed them! Enjoy the victory! He passed his CGC.

Webber is a Momma's boy.  What it means to me is that he never runs off and leaves my side.  He looks to me for direction and he is obedient.  He cuddles with me, and follows me from room to room.  He rides in passenger seat and cries if I put him in the back of the car.  He comes when I call him.  He gives me kisses,  and he likes me best  (except for Doris and Ronna) and he sleeps at the foot of the bed.  I hope he never changes. I think Momma's boy is something to be proud of; it speaks to the kind of relationship you and Amante have.  They are jealous.  Congratulations Amante for passing CGC (and your Mom too).

I think Webber was just being nice to "your company!"  Maybe he HAD to sit in my lap in your car because he was protecting you! Such a smart 'lil guy -- he can charm and protect at the same time! If he had to choose, it would be you hands-down!!

Nice work Rose Ann!  You should be very proud of how well Amante did.  Don't give the others another thought.  If you truly feel that Amante needs an extra dose of confidence there are several exercises you can do to accomplish that.  Otherwise it appears you have a very well mannered dog. WTG!

Congrats Amante & Rose Ann... don't worry about what other people think, you are a good Doodle Mom.  You will never see those people again.  Don't waste your energy on negative people.  And.... I know both my doodles are Momma's boy & girl, I would not have it any other way.  I know my doodles love me and I'm proud of that.  Is it so wrong that they are guilty of wanting to be with their Mom = NOT !!!   Congrats again :)
