Will adding kelp assist in reversing "snow nose"?

I've read online that addidng kelp to a dogs food can help turn their pink (snow) noses back to black.  Does anyone know if this is true?

All my labs and now my doodle's nose has faded. I love the fading.  Almost as if watercolors were used

to shade.  I call Spud's nose a Taupe color  :)

I don't know what to tell you if you don't like it or want the black nose back.  A puppy maybe :)

I love the doodles on dk with light eyes and pink noses. Awesome!  I like the dark noses also. Awesome!  Clancy and Ned's noses are dark - always.  Our lab mix (who was golden) had a nose that got lighter as he aged as well as lighter in the winter.

Camus' nose has turned pinkish, but is rimmed in black - he is a special doodle!  And, although I do give him kelp (not for his nose) it has made no difference in the color of his nose. Somewhat scientific proof?

I just read the link that Elizabeth posted and it is very interesting.  Of particular interest to me is the possible link to hypothyroidism.  The reason I give Camus kelp is, although his thyroid tests came back within the normal range, he gains weight very easily and the kelp helps maintain his weight.  Both his primary vet and the dermatologist are aware of this.

We think Luna might have "Snow nose" - we'll find out in a few months.  Her nose stayed black last winter, but she was just a baby then, so who knows!  I thought that actual pink noses were only found in chocolate/cream doodles - her dad was an apricot poodle.

The bit about hypothyroidism is interesting because (like Camus) Luna gains weight very easily - we have to monitor her food intake carefully.

Wait a minute-the last I read was that most of the time it will change darker in the summer??? I hope so because Myla's got really pink this winter:( I will have to read the articles later! Thanks for posting!
