Some of you know that Murph was a very naughty boy on our walk yesterday....lots of reactiveness after a one month "hiatus" from these behaviors. Since we got home yesterday, he's been avoiding me like the plague. He's steering clear of Mom.....no coming over for cuddles or following me around the house....he even hangs his head when I look at him.
This reminds me of my "other guys" in the house. My DH and DS refer to it as being "in the dog house". They know when I'm upset with them, and they just lay low waiting for me to get over it. It usually takes a day or two of them being on their best behavior, and then I forgive and forget. I think its' so funny that Murph is following their lead. I thought this morning he'd forget....but no, he's still staying away from Mom.
So, I'm wondering....do your Doodles know when you're mad at them? What do they do?

Good grief, these dogs must have serious separation anxiety, they really couldn't just be naughty, could they?
OMD....these pictures are almost too upsetting to look at!
LOL....okay, now I'm counting my blessings.
I have to say we have never seriously told Riley off. He has grabbed socks and underwear and sometimes we can hear him going to the kitchen to do a little serious counter surfing. When we do call out 'leave it' he comes straight to us looking a little sheepish but wanting a pat on the head. My partner left our dressing room open and a shoe of mine (Gucci) was destroyed, I just shouted at him for leaving the door open. I couldn't bring myself to shout at Riley. He says Riley gets better treatment than he does, I heard him telling some friends at a dinner party last Saturday that he had to drive miles for this special Canadian dog food for Riley even though there are three pet stores within walking distance.
Well, today I came out of the back room and Fudge and Vern were in the foyer. Somewhere, I am guessing near my DH's chair they found a roll of paper towels and Vern was still actively chewing it when I came around the corner. Fudge was just looking at me like, "nothing I could do." Neither dog seemed that worried and in fact, Vern continued to eat paper towels while I was cleaning it up. Truly, they rarely do this kind of stuff, so I was really surprised.
They knew it was "Gottcha Month" and that you were way to sentimental to be mad at them.
This is great! Mine are always naughty so that would be exhausting for them!
My Duke just doesn't care, I fuss and he honestly ignores. Hubby says the same things happens when he tries to correct. Yet you can say positive stuff and he acknowleges it for a short time. So I am thinking he has a two year old mind set.
Here's an example of a dog who truly knows he's in the doghouse!
That is one guilty dog. His anxiety grin was too much...
I love this!
Camus is a mixed bag when it comes to owning up. He knows I do not like it when he brings dirt inside on his paws and face as a result of burying a bone, so now when he does get messy he only sticks his head in the doggie door and waits for me to go outside to clean him up. On the other hand he shows no remorse whatsoever for barking at a neighbor even though he knows I do not like it and scold him every time. So I guess he thinks being a clean doodle is to be expected but a good neighbor doodle not so much!
