Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello. I've been in the process of training my little guy for the past month or so and I've uploaded a few videos. If you have the time, please offer any constructive advice or suggestions. He just started puppy training on monday and I already learned some errors to my commands and how I've been training him. I've actually learned a lot from browsing this site and just looking up training videos on line. Thank you. I am enjoying looking through all of your fun stories and learning more doodle info on a daily basis. :)

Koda is such a doll! I have enjoyed watching your videos. Puppy training class should be fun for both of you. I think you will both be at the head of the class! I went to puppy class to learn how to train a puppy, you are already way ahead of the game! Looking forward to seeing more videos of Koda's training in process.
Aw, thank you for the support and the kind words. I'm new to it so I'm trying to absorb whatever info I can to do the best job as his daddy. He's a great pup.
Eric,
You are doing great!!!! Koda is amazing and you are way ahead of the game. Eye contact is vital.....we used a clicker too and every time MOlly backtracks, we go back to it. Your pooch is way more attentive than Molly ever was at that age.
Putting the time in is well worth it,
Hi again.
Just watched a earlier one - sit,down,shake....a couple of things you will learn in class, I'm sure:
Only reward if they follow the command the first time you say it. Don't keep repeating and then reward
Stand upright and don't go down to their level
It would seem to me that shaking from a sit is alot easier than from a down.
That dog is fabulous...your come is amazing at this point. Good luck
Thanks for the advice! Definitely new things I didn't know so it is very helpful and I'll for sure apply them. Very nice of you. :)
Koda is adorable and you are doing so SO well with him in training! One of the cutest things I've taught Brady to do is 'wash your face' .... and 'whisper'. Brady is now 11 months and the love of my life!!
Haha. That sounds very cool! Hopefully one day I'll be able to teach Koda those tricks as well. Brady looks like a gem. I can see how he would be the love of your life. :)
Koda is adorable and you are terrific with him! Classes are so much fun!! You are off to a great start!
Thank you so much for the support! :)
Koda is so cute! This reminds me of when my Hopster was still small. Keep up the good work! It'll pay off. :)
You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
Eric, thanks so much for sharing your videos. I thoroughly enjoyed them. I'm enchanted by Koda - what a love! And you are really good with him. I love how you pet him by swirling your hand around his head when you give verbal praise. I wish I could have worked with Dudley so young. You look as though you're having so much fun with this little fluff bundle. The only thing I would note is not to repeat your commands over and over. With the attention he gives you, he is hearing them the first time. So you wait for compliance rather than repeating the command. If no compliance after a pause, say it again a little sharper. Having said that, I agree that a shake is easier from a sit rather than a down position, which is where I think he was showing a little resistance. Kudos to you for your clear directions and positive reinforcement. Do continue sharing when you can. The videos are wonderful.
