Recently, crowns began appearing on profile pictures which sent all of DK a twitter and by all, I mean those people so addicted to DoodleKisses that they were monitoring profile pictures instead of out on a Friday night. Sadly, I am one of those people. It started with Sherri first. What could it mean?  Remember that old show Queen for the Day?

On that show, women were interviewed and asked what they needed most in their life, and then the audience would respond with applause, someone would get picked, and of course, be awarded the thing they needed most in their life, everyone would cry and leave happy.  Was Sherri going to be queen for the day on DK and what would be her wish?

All of a sudden, I saw I had a crown, too.  Sue noticed she had a crown and posted a discussion.  We all started speculating about what the crown could mean and Joanne tried to get us in trouble with the Food Group by implying that we all fed our dogs at Burger King. My husband once had a pair of underwear that said "Home of the Whopper," but other than that, I knew my dogs had never seen a Whopper served from Burger King, but I can't speak for them as to what they have seen when my husband jumps out of the shower.

I didn't think it had anything to do with Whoppers, however, because there would be no reason for my crown to have anything to do with something that big.

Besides, how would Adina know what goes on in our lives, because only a fool would blog about family members on a public site.

Members were this close to rioting when they saw that only three of us had been crowned and I felt badly for all of those people, but as long as I was picked and wasn't a loser but I knew there had to be a perfectly rational explanation that Sherri, Sue, and I were winners chosen.

Sue suggested we find things we had in common, so I racked my brain last night trying to think of something.  Did we all win a beauty pageant once in our lives?  I know I was in the running for the title of Miss. Melons USA once on  Spring Break, but dropped out after I asked one of the judges where the display table was for my prized cantaloupes and he said, "honey, the only prize those melons are gonna get is the booby prize."

How was I supposed to know if Sue and Sherri had anything similar happen to them?

No, it had to be something else, but what?  Finally, it dawned on me.  We all had one male and one female Doodle and we are all runners.  I know what you are all thinking, RUNNERS?? Laurie??  All I will say to you naysayers is that once, it was pouring outside and my daughter and I were trying to get into the mall and I took off like a bat out of hell and ran into that mall so quickly, that even one of the employees in the store was shocked, and said when she thought of me, she always thought Laurie, the Gazelle. Case closed....mystery over......two Doodles and in superior shape!!!

I'll have what Sherri's having...

LOL

I respectfully submit that anyone who can remember the Queen for a Day show should be "Crowned".     Those lucky women...not only got crowned and robed they more often "won" Washing Machines as their grand prize!

Funny, funny post Laurie!!!

My washing machine is on the fritz, so maybe Adina will pick me and send me a new one. LOL

I remember it, and by my recollection, those women were not lucky. The winner was usually the one who had the most tragic, depressing story: She had been hit by a truck as she was pulling her handicapped child to safety after rescuing him from her burning home, which the bank was foreclosing on because she had been unable to keep up with the mortgage payments after her husband lost his job and committed suicide. But a new washing machine would solve all her problems because if she had clean clothes, she would have a better chance of finding a job and getting her child back from the state.

Who I really felt sorry for were the other two women who also smiled bravely and sobbed their way through their own tragic stories in front of a nationwide audience and didn't get crowned Queen for a Day.

LOL. I remember the show too, of course. But I didn't really watch it, what a depressing premise.

You are absolutely right... kind of sadistic. So why did your post make me laugh out loud. sick.

That was my intended reaction. We are birds of a feather.

Bonnie, I was thinking the same thing, while I was laughing all the way through Karen's post :)

I know I should NOT be laughing at this Karen....but I can't help myself.  I wet my pants...but just a little.

Then my work here is done!

Only a very uncaring person would wet her pants A LOT!!! You practiced great restraint proving you are indeed a wonderful person. LOL
