About 2 large bags ago I switched Bailey to Orijen puppy. At first she liked it but now she will only eat if there is something added. I add healthy stuff only and I have cut back on her kibble as not to give her to many calories. Things I add are: FF yougart, chicken, steak...
My question is: should I be concerned if she will only eat her kibble if it has yummy toppers. I was thinking that she might not like the Orijen so I bought her a little bag of TOTW Salmon to add to her Orijen...Nope, not crazy about that either. I fed her just kibble yesterday AM and she has only eaten a little of it. She is feeling fine, drinking, peeing and pooping....
It's time to switch to "big girl food" but I just don't knoe if I should continue with Orijen or should I try different brands (good stuff only) until I find one she will eat without extras..
Thoughts?

Murphy is also not crazy about kibble and we've tried several brands. Her favorite so far is Lotus Lamb formula. It is rather expensive but worth it to me because it is high quality and she does eat it. I sometimes crumble half of a Stella and Chewy raw patty into her food and she really loves that.
Here is a recent discussion on toppers: http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/food-to...
Do not start down the road of switching foods to find one she will "like". Eventually, she will not "like" everything you try. Trust me on that one.
Some dogs are just not food motivated. We have many discussions here in TFG about this. I have yet to hear of any dog who does not have a serious health issue starving to death or jeopardizing his health because he didn't like his food.
There's nothing wrong with adding toppers if you want to do it, but you don't have to. She will eat enough eventually, with or without them.
Once you make the switch to the Orijen adult formulas, you will be able to rotate between the formulas and add a little variety.
Elizabeth, read through this discussion. I think it will help, and it definitely gives another perspective on trying to get a dog to "like" his or her food: http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/an-ode-...
Thanks Karen...
