Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Recently, crowns began appearing on profile pictures which sent all of DK a twitter and by all, I mean those people so addicted to DoodleKisses that they were monitoring profile pictures instead of out on a Friday night. Sadly, I am one of those people. It started with Sherri first. What could it mean? Remember that old show Queen for the Day?
On that show, women were interviewed and asked what they needed most in their life, and then the audience would respond with applause, someone would get picked, and of course, be awarded the thing they needed most in their life, everyone would cry and leave happy. Was Sherri going to be queen for the day on DK and what would be her wish?
All of a sudden, I saw I had a crown, too. Sue noticed she had a crown and posted a discussion. We all started speculating about what the crown could mean and Joanne tried to get us in trouble with the Food Group by implying that we all fed our dogs at Burger King. My husband once had a pair of underwear that said "Home of the Whopper," but other than that, I knew my dogs had never seen a Whopper served from Burger King, but I can't speak for them as to what they have seen when my husband jumps out of the shower.
I didn't think it had anything to do with Whoppers, however, because there would be no reason for my crown to have anything to do with something that big.
Besides, how would Adina know what goes on in our lives, because only a fool would blog about family members on a public site.
Members were this close to rioting when they saw that only three of us had been crowned and I felt badly for all of those people, but as long as I was picked and wasn't a loser but I knew there had to be a perfectly rational explanation that Sherri, Sue, and I were winners chosen.
Sue suggested we find things we had in common, so I racked my brain last night trying to think of something. Did we all win a beauty pageant once in our lives? I know I was in the running for the title of Miss. Melons USA once on Spring Break, but dropped out after I asked one of the judges where the display table was for my prized cantaloupes and he said, "honey, the only prize those melons are gonna get is the booby prize."
How was I supposed to know if Sue and Sherri had anything similar happen to them?
No, it had to be something else, but what? Finally, it dawned on me. We all had one male and one female Doodle and we are all runners. I know what you are all thinking, RUNNERS?? Laurie?? All I will say to you naysayers is that once, it was pouring outside and my daughter and I were trying to get into the mall and I took off like a bat out of hell and ran into that mall so quickly, that even one of the employees in the store was shocked, and said when she thought of me, she always thought Laurie, the Gazelle. Case closed....mystery over......two Doodles and in superior shape!!!

My two would do the same!!
I do not remember queen for the day, obviously you aren't as young as you say.
Daisy never had a Whopper, I wish I could say the same for myself.
I know of no fools on DK.
Nobody ever asked me to run in a melon contest but once was asked to be in a Wet T-Shirt contest, I declined as I am very shy, not!
I think I may have ran from my car to a Dairy QUEEN restaurant once and it was "reigning" outside. That must be it!
Lisa, F and Donna told me about that show. I had never heard of it either, since I am only in my thirties :) A good whopper is hard to find and certainly, no fools around here...LOL!! Interesting about the wet T-shirt contest and I am not sure I believe the part where you declined and oh, how I love a Blizzard :)
That's right you and I are the same age! It pays to have older friends - ha ha, though with these remarks I don't know how long they will be retained. :-)
I would not be caught dead in a wet t-shirt, unless I was running into the Dairy Queen and got caught in a rainstorm on the way in but more likely I would be in the drive-thru ha ha!
I love the DQ drive thru...LOL! When I volunteered and took the oldies shopping we usually capped off our day with a DQ treat, but I always told them, "what happens in the van, stays in the van!" LOL
I am sure Donna or F will be popping in soon to question our age! Stay strong. They have no proof.
No questions at all. Just remember I plan to report all this to the Social Security Adm. I wonder if there will be any when you young'uns are ready to apply. At the rate things are going your full retirement dates should be in about 40 years : )
It really is kind of scary how things are going.....luckily, I plan on hitting the Lottery soon.
That's a foolhardy good plan.
Especially since I hardly ever buy a ticket :)
OH no, that means you'll have spent very little for the giant jackpot ; )
According to wiki...Queen for a Day is an American radio and television game show with big-prize giveaways. Queen for a Day originated on the Mutual Radio Network on April 30, 1945 in New York City before moving to Los Angeles a few months later, and running until 1957. The show then ran on NBC Television from 1956 to 1964
It is considered the first "Reality Show" ever to hit t.v. but I can't believe you are all OLD enough to clearly remember that show! I refuse to believe that!
Wow, it started even before me!! And that's the truth--amazing. I must have seen ads for the later shows.
