Hello all, i am just waiting for my big bag of Royal Canine to finish (i know its not the best for my pup) but it was what the breeder was feeding her and i didnt want to switch it right off the bat, i am looking for a quality brand in a good price range. around 50-60 dollars canadian for a big bag
If anyone can recommend anything id appreciate it a bunch:) thanks

So im pretty sure ive decided im going to start feeding her Acana grain free ALS i just have to decide which kind to start with!
Im thinking chicken hmmm decisions decisions!
There is no chicken per se. The grain free comes in Wild Prairie, Pacifica, Grasslands and Ranchlands as I recollect and the all have mixed protein sources I think.
sorry the wild prairie i meant
of course im willing to take recommendations on that as well, if anyones pup does particularly well on
It seems like a lot of people use the Grasslands for puppies but with the calcium being the highest at 2% i thought one a little lower in calcium would be better suited. But as i am a beginner i could very well indeed be wrong:) and im okay with that lol
Update!
I got her food today, chose the Wild Prairie now i just have to figure out how much to feed her a day, ive emailed Champion to see if they have puppy feeding guidlines for the ASL formulas so we will see!
One important question i have is how to do the switchover, i read somewhere on here which i can no longer find that because it is such a different food then royal canin the calories would be off to just go cold turkey rather then mixing! if anyone knows the correct way please inform me thank you:)
I would do 3/4 old food 1/4 new for a few days, then 1/2 and 1/2 for a few days, then 3/4 new and 1/4 old for a few days. The all new. Figure out how many calories you gave her before and when she's on the Wild Prairie give her the amount that approximates the same number of calories. You'll have to adjust things as she grows anyway.
she will be 13 weeks on friday
