Friday Haley threw up his breakfast kibble (soft but recognizable) . It appeared that there was also some extremely rotten lawnmower droppings in the pile. He seemed to be feeling ok and he had been eating, drinking, peeing and pooping normally. Again yesterday he threw up about the same time of day and it was a big pile of kibble along with a couple of pieces of lettuce which he got at lunch time. A few minutes later he threw up again. This time, along with some very digested kibble, I found three of these:

The only difference is that they looked skeletonized. The only thing I can figure is that he either got them from digging under the compost bin to eat composted corn stalks or from some lawnmower droppings that had been run over and escaped my clean up.
I am waiting to see if anymore come up.

Ewww. I hope that's the end of them.

Me too!

I second the ewwww!!

Oh my

Are they locust skeletons? Ewww.

I'm pretty sure they are grubs and fairly large ones. I have them in a zip lock bag in the frig . Should I post a picture?

Why not. I'm a big fan of dead thing pictures : ) A zip lock bag in the frig, just the sort of thing I'd do. It was the skeletonized part that made me wonder.

Just for you F.  And, after trying to clean them up a little for the photo shoot I'm not sure if they are skeletonized or just shrunk up a little.

Yes, these are some grubby thing. How are you going to keep Haley from eating these critters, They'd make me throw up too.

We will secure the bottom of the compost bin. If that is where he got them it will be easy. DH suggested electric fence (ie for live stock); I think it will be more passive. If he got tbem elsewhere it will take some dective work.

Ewww, I was just eating my breakfast.

YUMMO!! I would would totally freak, why do they eat this stuff???? We had a grub problem last year, thankfully I didn't see any of this! Good luck!
