Agression in doodles
I have a 2 yr old golden doodle who occasionally shows agression toward other dogs (tail is up and he lunges or snaps at them). He also has occasionally bit my kids or growl at them if they jump on him. I cannot have a dog who shows any type of aggression whatsoever. I will work with a trainer but if I cannot get this remedied then I will have to - sadly - get rid of him. Anyone else had this problem and what their solution was??? Most of the time, Max is a friendly dog. He just needs some training. Thanks!

I suspect our own dogs put up with things they don't particularly lick because they love and trust us. But a stranger doing these things is a whole different story.

I'm sure this is true. I just gave Tara a hug. She did 4 lip licks! :( I guess she's not a hugger either!

Spud is a very gentle dog. He does growl if hugged or if we lay our heads on his back or we kiss his his back or hug him. He also is good with other dogs but they better NOT want to cuddle with him. No way.
We call this growl * yes there is a difference in growls sounds too-his argument growl. He is just stating he does not like something. Like a bark, a there are different sounds to growls.
Have you ever seen someone finger poke a dog? It is almost like we are poking him. Or that is how he understands this type of cuddling.
We can cuddle in many other ways: pet, rub belly, scratch neck, but not that hug or lay on him like a pillow.
