After the discussion in the Training Group that Adina started on dogs with aggression issues I realized that there are some Doodles who have many of the same issues as my Murphy, and owners who are struggling with how to address these issues.  To be honest, I had been feeling pretty alone in this.  These issues are not necessarily training related, although training is often part of managing it.  They are also not always due to fear or anxiety issues, although that may be tied in to some degree.  Anyway, I was wondering about potentially forming a new group for owners like me to share our strategies, concerns, etc.  I'm thinking sort of a support group of sorts.  Adina, would certainly have to agree and approve this group, but I was just trying to get a sense for whether others felt the need for it.

Dunno?
I'm all for the discussions and support, however I believe in many instances it all goes back to training; training the human, the dog, or both. The training group certainly is doing a great job addressing so many issues.
Could you be more specific about the goals/ outline for the group?

I am thinking it is something of an overlap really. Does Adina have to approve groups now? I formed one recently but who remembers : )

So, I'm thinking that there just aren't enough Doodles with significant behavioral problems to make a group like this work. i was just putting it out there to see what kind of response there would be.  I've been doing some research this afternoon, and I've actually found a couple of online groups that look great.....lots of good information, real life experiences, and overall support.  I think that's the best route for me to go.

Jane, I've been off DoodleKisses for several weeks (VERY busy) so didn't see this post until today. I would like such a group as you suggest. I have trained and trained Dudley and he has come a long way, but it was a lonely journey until Adina posted her question about aggression and individuals posted responses. It's clear that we have many different points of view about what makes our dogs tick and what strategies work best when one does not fall into the ideal doodle category [whatever that is]. I would like to hear the different points of view. I have so much to learn.

Now I will go and see how others responded to your post ;-0. As long as I have been away, the group may already be formed!
