Ollie was 19 weeks on Saturday and over the last couple of weeks he is 'off' his food.

We are feeding him twice a day on kibble, mince, cottage cheese and some grated veg and he just seems to pick at it - not wolf it down like he was doing originally. He probably has about 1 1/2 cups of food twice a day but I'd say he is only eating about one serve over the two sittings.
I just read in another discussion that serving raw meat only has about a half hour life and then it needs to go and unfortunately I have been leaving Ollies food out and maybe topping it up at dinner....... this morning I took the food away and he has just had a bone (its lunch time now)
He is about 11kgs now (22lbs) He doesn't seem to be lacking in energy or anything but I'm just getting worried as the vet mentioned he needed to put on a bit of weight when he had his last needles... We did change the butchers that we were getting the mince from but I have since gone back to the one he was liking.
Is this normal that he will go off his food??? When we picked him up the breeder said that at about 20weeks he will go down to one feed a day - could he be weaning himself to that stage???? How much should I be feeding him if I feed him only once a day and should I also leave out some biscuits for during the day???????????????????
Thank you.........

Our doodle is a year old and our vet recommended we feed him 3 times a day until he was at least 8 months old...because young dogs can have a tendency to get hypoglycemic if they don't eat often enough. We fed him 3 times a day until 8-9 months and then went down to twice a day. He gets breakfast and supper.

Our dog has always been highly food motivated and when he doesn't eat, there is usually something wrong. Last time, it was a kidney infection. Try feeding him a mixture of boiled hamburger and white rice and see if he eats that. Most dogs have trouble resisting it. If he won't eat it, I would check with your vet, because there may be a deeper problem for which he's not even showing any symptoms for.

We feed our doodle Orijen. It's a Canadian food that is apparently the closest thing to a raw food diet, but it's dried kibble. Our dog was on Wellness before that, and he changed dramatically after we switched him.
Thank you - i'll definately keep Ollie on at least two meals a day for a while yet (he was never on three a day). Might be time for a check up at the vets just to make doubly sure all is well.....
