taste of the wild recall

HELP!!!!! I just went to Pet Supplies and found out about the recall. Molly has done so well on Taste of the Wild Pacific Salmon...no loose poops for a year!!!!!! Please suggest what to switch her to immediately that is most similar, or how can I find out ? What of the highly recommended foods has never had a recall? I'm tempted to put her on Orijen, but when she was about 9 months, she had very loose poop from it. Thanks for any suggestions.....

I keep my food in the bag inside a very large plastic container. Less mess and I always have the info handy on the current food.

After an incident over a year ago where I had thrown out the batch number, I always cut off the batch number and just throw it in the container of food.  A tiny strip.   Always.  Thanks to the food group for letting me know to always save them.

Laura if you are seriously desperate :) I am willing to ship you a bag from Oregon. We are not affected by the recall here because our Taste of the Wild comes from a plant in California. Shipping cost would probably be a bugger though!  But for a one time thing...just wanted to make the offer. I ship items regularly for my home business so it is no big deal at my end. What a nice offer. I decided to go with Acana and switch her over as slowly as possible. Esp since this is not the first time Taste of the Wild has had a recall....I'm paranoid now. Don't know what we'll do. I guess if she can't tolerate this, we'll have to use TOTW. Thanks for all your input and comments. I know I'm not alone.

There are always other choices. I was just trying to steer you toward something that was grain-free, fish-based, and not made by Diamond.

I went to the local small food store who has a very knowledgable woman and she took me right away to Aracana Pacifica.....she was the one who suggested Molly go raw, and then when we didn't want to do that any more , steered us toward TOTW Pacific Stream, so again, thank you Karen

Karen is correct. I found a west coast source (from the TOTW site) and they had a statement on their site that all of their TOTW was manufactured in CA. I always meant to find another brand as a back-up, expensive reminder.

I buy from amazon and live in Illinois. Anyone know if my April 19th bag would be affected. I too throw away the empty bag but will be keeping the label from now on.

The "best before dates" on the recalled products are December 9, 2012, through April 7, 2013. So if yours has a "best before" date of April 19th, it's not included.

I live in California and bought TOTW from Amazon on April 25. Like others have said, I've been throwing away the bag, so I'm really not sure. (Will make sure to save the label from now on!) It seems that people are saying California TOTW is safe, but I went back and checked my Amazon tracking info and there's no place of origin for where the shipment originated.

Doodles often show no signs from salmonella even if it's actually present. And most of the food is unaffected.
