Help with BARF diet please and how much protien to give a labradoodle?

We just picked up our new Australian labradoodle puppy (he is 5 months and about 30lbs) the other day and want to switch him to a raw diet when we get home. We are switching to Blue Ridge Beef (meat, bone mixes) since they are local to me and we will get good pricing. My question is how much protein does a standard labradoodle puppy need? Do I need to add something like Sojos (fruit and veggie mix) to the meat or just stick with meat and raw meaty bones? I don't know if it matters but he will top out around 20" or so and 45lbs. Also, for those that do use a raw diet what precautions can I take to keep my kids healthy? I have a 5 year old and a 22 month old. Will I need to clean his fur daily? Any advice? Thanks!

I don't feed raw, but since you're not sure of a few details, I would say hold off until you find your answers. We have at least one member here who feeds raw. Go to the members page, and do a search for Kate and Yarra.

I feed raw and have done so since I got the doodles. I tried kibble for about the first month after getting Capp, my first dood. He is a finicky eater, and did not like the kibble. I tried many varieties of it. I had always fed my dachshund kibble. Well, after worrying about Capp I decided to feed raw once again, but I do mostly use mixes that I purchase. I have fed CANZ Countrypet, and the dogs love it. I am currently feeding Blue Ridge Beef after seeing the info you posted. I use Honest Kitchen and Sojos. I also do my own veggies sometimes mixed with some oats.

I buy the Mr. Clean disinfecting wipes and keep the area clean and sanitized where I prep the dogs' food. I follow the directions on the Sojos bag for amounts. My dogs weigh the same as yours. They are both 37 to 40 pounds. I do wipe the dogs; mouths around their beards with baby wipes.
