Has anyone tried Costco's flea & tick control product. Are you finding it works? Here in NJ Costco sells Frontline Plus for $37 &  the Costco equivalent is $20.

The difference to me is that human drugs and products are better regulated. I think that even generic human drugs still have to be FDA approved, and the same standards and safeguards are not used for pet products.

True to some degree. You'd be surprised.

By the control over pet products or the lack of it for human ones?

I have a box of the Kirklands in my hand.  it was 6 applications for $20.

I am going to return it though & stay with Frontline...I still have some left from last year.

My DD said she thought it said on the Sign at Costco it was the same ingredients...it is not - I just checked.

Also my DD used it on her 2 dogs...I used Frontline on Trixie...her 2 dogs were here overnight a week ago & I found an engored tick that had fallen off a dog...I assumed it was from one of her dogs & I am probably right.

I space my frontline treatments out 5- 6 weeks depending on the time of year. (Trixie was at 3 weeks when the tick was found on the floor)

I have used  Frontline til now and have found engorged ticks on my dogs.

For people who use Frontline purchased from the vet I just found this coupon:

I just looked at what the vet gave me for Riley and it's Certifect, it's a good bit cheaper than the Frontline Plus and not a generic which I thought originally.   Anyone using it?  It seems to have the same ingredients.

It does have the same active ingredients. I haven't used it though.

Nicky....Certifect is the tick med that made my doodle lethargic and "weird" for 3 days. It was scary!  I have switched to Frontline plus.

Wow Gail, if I had read this before I used I wouldn't have taken the chance but we are into our third month on it and no problems.  I did make sure I was around to observe any changes when I used it the first time.  It's a precaution I would take with any new drug. You just never know.

We don't have very many Costco Stores ( I think there is one but it is 40 miles away) in my area, but we do have Sam's Club.  They seem to be similar stores in niche marketing.

I have seen the Sam's Club Frontline knockoff displays in their store recently.  Same thing?

Fiproguard is the one generic I know of. Some bad reviews but that's true of Frontline too.

Has the opinion changed much about what the 'best' flea + tick product is now?  Anything safe that is better?  (Not looking for natural hokum ;))
