I got this in my email box today from Camp BowWow - too late but still good things....don't know why they waited to send.

May 6-12 is National Pet Week!

This year the American Veterinary Medical Association is celebrating the 31st anniversary of National Pet Week May 6-12! This is a week devoted to promoting responsible pet ownership, to celebrate the human-animal bond, and promote public awareness of veterinary medicine.

Here are some tips provided by the American Veterinary Medical Association for responsible pet ownership.

  1. Commit: Avoid impulsive decisions when selecting a pet
  2. Invest: Recognize that pet ownership requires an investment of time and money
  3. Obey: Don’t allow your pet to stray or become feral
  4. Identify: Make sure your pet is properly identified and keep its registration up-to-date
  5. Limit: Don’t contribute to our nation’s pet overpopulation problem.
  6. Prepare: Make alternate arrangements if you can no longer provide care for your pet

I like that message.  If everyone would follow #1, the world would be a better place for our furry friends!

Let's hope that the people who really need to be educated in these issues will get this and read it.

These are great tips!!!

Good tips.  We would all be better off it everyone just used "common sense".
