Today is Memorial Day and Hurley, I and my family want honor the US men and women who died while in the military, serving their country. It is a day to remember all the people who have served - and are serving - in the armed forces; our surviving veterans; and to honor those who have died in past wars.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me. -Lee Greenwood

Hurley has been through so much in the last 6 months. There have been a lot of things he hasn't been able to do with the cysts that are on his head. I cried a lot and listened to what was the "best thing for him"...but knowing he did not have cancer and the possibility that the cysts won't come back after surgery, I knew I had to fight for him. I got a huge whiff of determation that came through me and started on this path I am on. With the kindness of strangers, that I now call my family, you are helping to save my dog, to give him a shot of having a long life "cyst free"...(I love the word CYST free)..you all have surrounded Hurley and my family with prayers, love and well wishes. You have helped with the cost of his medical bills that involve surgery, recovery, and these "bumps" we have hit lately with him to get better. I can never say Thank You enough....

Tomorrow Hurley gets his stitches out!! He will be there at 10 am..he will be sedated to have them removed...I will find out tomorrow when surgery #2 is...which I think will be very soon...

love,

Hurley and Regina

Great news!

Happy Memorial Day to you, too, Hurley! Hope the removal of your stitches goes well!

I will be thinking of you and Hurley  tomorrow.  Gordie got his stitches out on Friday.  I was sure they would have to sedate him because they were on his eyelid, but they didn't, so I was thrilled.  I know Hurley will be sedated but I wish you as easy a time as Gordie - snip, snip, snip and happy doggy!

Thanks Regina! I hope you and your family (including Hurley of course!) have a great holiday!

I'm looking forward to your next update on Hurley's situation. How is that infection coming along? Is it gone now?

Hi Ricki and TaraBear,

His infection by his ear has not spread!! I am still putting a medical flush on it to keep it from getting out of hand, but it is doing very good. It's still red but Dr. G says he's not worried about it anymore :) that's a good thing...!

Tomorrow 10 am Hurley will have the stitches removed! I will post when he is having his next surgery when I find out!!

Doodle Kisses,

Regina and Hurley

I don't always comment but know that I am thinking and praying for you and your family.  You are a trooper and worth fighting for.  You are one blessed dood to have a mom that wants the best for you.
