How many toys does your puppy have and how many do you think they need? Wally keeps eating/destroying his soft toys and so he now only has a kong, antler and bully stick. Is this enough? He still LOVES my kids stuffed animals and gets them every chance he has!

I have no idea how many toys a dog should have but we have aggressive chewers at our house. I figure it is better to be safe than sorry. Our two currently have parts of four antlers, a kong, an Orbee "bone", a real marrow bone that Owen dug up in the yard from eons ago.... from the renters that lived here 12 years ago while we were in CO, a rubber dumbbell, a cloth frisbee that has survived the attack of Owen since his adoption. (Not sure what it is made of, but that company has it right). I hear that it is best to only have a few toys ... if you have more, they suggest putting some away and switching them out after a while to keep the dog interested.
Oh this brings back memories. Our pup is now 1 year 4 months and the chewing had really tapered off but she still gets into it occasionally. I suggest nylabones and a good hard rubber ball for fetching.
Our Tess is 13 months and has learned what fun it is to take the stuffing and squeekers out of the soft toys. We have tried everything out there and she can destroy it in just a few days. I had desided a couple months ago to stop buying new ones, and I was slowly throwing away all the ones that were bearly hanging together. Then one day I came home from work to find she had chewed on our new white trim around our bedroom closet door, while my husband was taking a well deserved nap. I went straight to the store for some new toys.........I desided it was much cheaper then having to fix the house :) Still haven't found a toy she can't destroy.....
Jacki has a kong, an antler and a bare beef bone which I occasionally fill with peanutbutter when she needs a distraction. She also has a softball that we leave outside for a good game of catch. She also has 2 stuffed toys which she started to rip open and pull out the stuffing. I finished the job for her and she loves the unstuffed toys! I read that you should never give your dogs tennis balls because the glue that is used to hold on the fuzzy material is very acidic and can seriously erode your dog's teeth.
