I am just wondering how many of you find you have to remind your dog what "working" means if you haven't been out for awhile?

I quite often don't feel well enough to go out to stores and such and recently went a longer time than usual without going out.  When Tia and I did go out she was distracted and off her training.  It took a couple of days for her to be back to top form but I was a bit frustrated.  I know that is probably normal but I also know that I can't train her inside the same way I do if I go out.  I wonder if place training would help keep her attentive or something like that?

Anyone else have this struggle or do any of you have any suggestions?

Thanks

I am so premature on this because I don't even have a SD but am learning so much! I have this same concern because sometimes I am not up to much at all. Last week was a great week and I still only left the house no more than once a day. I see you posted this awhile ago and wondered how you worked through it or if it was still a work in progress?

Hi!  I have been without a computer for a long time so I could not reply until now.  I was feeling that Tia was way off her training but when I got with my trainer I found out she was more on the mark than off.  My trainer was quite impressed and most of what he told me was I needed to not be so tough on Tia because she wasn't doing anything that off her training.  Most of what she was doing was my fault, so he worked with me and all is well now.  Glad to meet you!
