My six month old puppy was on Taste of the Wild food when it was recalled. We were forced to switch suddenly to Orijens but it doesn't seem to agree with him too well. Does anyone have any other suggestions for a good puppy food? He seems to be bored with this and I would like to incorporate another into his diet slowly. Thank you.

After the last recall, we switched from TOTW to Acana High Prairie.  The boys have done very well and seem to love the taste.  The protein level is close to TOTW and it's same the same company as Orijen.  From my research, it seemed that many seems to tolerate Acana better than Orijen (less protein). Although the High Prairie is a grain free all stages food, Acana also has a puppy line.  Our boys are a year old and nine months so we went with the all stages.  I do not have any experience with their puppy line.

Luna loves the taste of her Acana too.  She's tried Pacifica and Grasslands so far and likes both.

Are you planning the switch just because he's "bored" or is he having trouble with it (digesting etc.)?

You don't want to switch foods if he just seems uninterested; you are likely to land up with a picky adult dog.  If he's doing fine energy level and digestion-wise, he may just be testing you to see if you'll give him something new and exciting.  Don't worry, he won't starve himself if he just "doesn't like" the food ;)

To keep food interesting for my doodles I use different toppers on their food.  For example I will give a couple of tablespoons full of cooked liver, or chicken, salmon, tripe from a can, etc. etc.  I buy the chicken breasts on sale then cook them up in the crock pot then shred the chicken, at each meal I heat up a tiny portion for each dog and mix it into their food and they love it.
