Stuart actually peed in his sleep last night.  Stuart is 15 months and has never had an accident in the house except for a couple during those early house training days.  We went to a cookout last evening at my sister's where he had a big ol yard to play in and of course he fetched his ball at least 80 times (not kidding).  When not fetching he would lay in front of a water bowl slurping and spilling it, laying in it to his heart's content.  I don't think we've ever seen him so worn out.  Well both Stuart & dh fell asleep on the sofa and dh woke up later to find his feet wet and Stuart sound asleep.  I've know little kids that would pee in their sleep but a dog?  Never heard of that before.  Needless to say as Stuart is a big dog, it was an epic pee but who could be mad as he didn't do it on purpose.  So the cover is off the cushion and has been hand washed, both are drying out on the balcony.  Stuart is off to have a bath.  Has anyone else's dog ever peed in their sleep?

OMD - Sounds like Stuart was just totally tired - he could not get up!  Probably will not happen againm, unless of course he fetchs 80 balls and drinks a bath tub full of water!  LOL

When Charlie gets over-the-top exhausted retrieving balls, he will lay down by the water bowl, but not drink for about 5 - 10 minutes until he has settled down a bit.  I guess he is monitoring himself!  If he retrieved 80 balls - I think he would pass out!  He is a couch potato compared to Stuart.

Seriously - I can't be mad - he was sound asleep when he did it.  Might have to cut the ball retrieving back to 70 - lol!

This has happened to my daughter's 3 year old Vizsla a few times.  My DD took the dog to the vet and checked for infections...none...the vet said it could be from being overly tired, or it could be incontinence caused by spaying (I guess this is somewhat common).  My DD researched it and is using a holistic product for canine incontinence and it is helping but did not get rid of it completely.  It seems to happen more often when she is super tired so if they have been to the dog park they will wake the dog up from the deep sleep and make her go out and pee before it happens.  The Vizsla is a rescue so who knows the history.  I hope this is just a one time thing for Stuart!...and I hope this info helps.  Are you enjoying your vacation?
