She may be one of those doodles, like mine, who doesn't get too curly. Mine has very wavy hair in her back but her face looks just like a golden retriever. As far being hyper, remember, she is only 3 months old and this is very normal. Be patient and check out all the training tips that are available on this site. She will soon be old enough to take to a training class which will help both you and her to become the dog of your dreams. Good luck and have fun!

Our Gracie was a smoother coat as a puppy so we kind of knew that she was not going to be a shaggy doodle.  Alot of people think she is also a Golden Retriever..now she has a curly coat on her back, a fu man chu beard and very soft.  She does shed ALOT.  Behaviorally, she was always a great dog. She did go through the puppy issues..I just tried to wear her out as much as possible before I went to work and when I got home--walks, swimming, playing with her frisbee.  We also took her to a puppy training class.   We love our doodle, and are actually getting another one in a few weeks, so we will be right back into puppy issues again too.  Good luck!

Puppies are very hyper, but they don't have much endurance.  They play hard and rest hard!

Be consistent with her training and keep at it - the stubbornness will drift away.  She is just testing her limits with you.

I would encourage you to check out the "puppy madness" group here - lots of great advice to be had!

Our goldendoodle is black and has straight fur and sheds. We thought we were getting a non shedding typical goldendoodle but realized quickly he wasn't that, however we love him just the way he is and couldn't imagine him any different.

If you're dog doesnt have curly fur by now he never will, but you'll love him just the way he is, just get ready to clean up some fur if you haven't already.

The only way you're going to get him to relax is bring him to the dog park or find other dogs to run him with. No amount of walking around the neigborhood is going to get the energy out.

I don't mean to sound harsh, just want to be realistic with you. Good luck!
