Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi all,

Just curious... are all labradoodle's love bugs?  Our 1.5 year old, Sherlock, is such a love bug.  He always wants to be with us and is very cuddly.

I think so! Mine are for sure. Ben loves hugs and kisses and will even fall asleep in your arms. Zoe is a little more independent and can be a rascal but anytime I say "cuddleeee" she runs to the living room and waits for me.

Bodi is a major snuggler. He is happiest touching me or resting his head on my shoulder or collar bone. He is a lap dog for sure.  Some doodles on DK are not like that.  I guess like people, everyone is a little  bit different!

Tank not so much.  He is protective and will come to bed when I do to watch for scary things coming down the hall.  He will jump in my lap and sit there for a while for some hugs and then he is off exploring. He loves us very much but does not need constant reassurance. Sully could sit in our laps for the entire day with some potty/food breaks.  He needs his people and to know that he's a "good boy".  Difference personalities but very loving in their individual ways.

I think they are all Love Bugs they just show it in different ways.  Riley climbs on top of me every morning and wraps his paws around my shoulders.  Then he snuggles right beside me and goes back to sleep for another hour.  He is not a velcro dog during the day though he does come up for cuddles and if I sit on the couch climbs up beside me and snuggles in.  He doesn't stay for long though always preferring the floor beside me or the cool tiles in the hall.

Bailey is the same way.  She likes the cool floor but will jump up and sit next to me and lift her paw for me to hold and give kisses too...then it's off to sleep at my feet again.  She is also a big kisser.  she loves to give kisses...and I love it!!

My labradoodle Oliver is a love bug, he is 2 yrs. old and my shadow and I love it - he wants me to pet him 24-7 ( I try my best - LOL)

Noe is 13 weeks and since we got her when she does settle down she prefers to sleep on our feet even if you're standing in the kitchen trying to cook, we don't let her on the furniture, but I think she would love it if we did.

My Sophie is a total lovebug.  She is on the couch next to me right now.  She loves attention and wants to be wherever we are.  She loves to be hugged, petted, kissed.  I love this about her as our previous dog, was just the opposite, very aloof and independent.

Thank you for all your replies.  I know all dogs are different, but I was curious if it was common in the breed.  I have never had a dog that is sooo loving.  He's not obnoxious about it, but he tends to want to be with us, leaning against us or on our lap.  We really enjoy it.  LOL!

We have a love bug for sure! He could be pet and kissed and talked to all day, by me or my husband, not the kids. Luckily he gets hot easily so he took himself from sleeping on the bed to now on the floor.
