my sweet lilly is 6 months.   i'll be brief instead of writing a book.  i was out of town for 2 weeks, my family was nice enough to leave lilly's poop for me to clean up.  which turned out to be a good thing.   found  feminine hygiene products ( 2 types ), paper towels, finer paper like tissues, ear buds, assorted plastic pieces in her poop.   then lots of diarrhea.  yellow stains on the (white) carpet (no one knew what it was)  report that she pooped in her crate one night.  reports of vomiting.  the family did take her to the groomer.  within an hour of my return i see she is scratching all over like crazy.  no one noticed.

ok.  before i left for my trip we changed lillys food so i thought she was maybe allergic.  i switched her back to the "flavor" she usually ate.  added a little rice for the diarrhea, gave benadryl for scratching.  diarrhea stopped but not the scratching. maybe it was the shampoo from the groomer.  i gave her a bath with gentle oatmeal puppy shampoo.   still scratching.

yesterday she turned away from her favorite treat, frozen peanut butter in the kong.  this morning vomiting as soon as she got up (so on an empty stomach).  i ran errands got home at 1pm and she hadn't touched a bite of her food nor drank one lick of water.  we live in las vegas, normally she drinks like a camel.

we went straight to the vet.   her temp was 104.2.  they put her on an iv for fluids, ran blood work, and took x-rays.  no obstruction, but her stomach is 1/2 full.  1/2  full of what?  the food she ate yesterday afternoon?

so tomorrow they will take more x-rays.  hopefully what ever was in her stomach will pass.  otherwise they'll operate.  vet called me as he was closing up tonight, her temp was back to normal.

please send good wishes, thoughts, vibes, or prayers.

thank you

Lilly is so cute and precious.  You certainly have my vibes coming your way for a Lilly who is soon healthy again.  We live in Henderson so we are neighbors.  After Lilly gets better let me know if you would be interested in a possible doggie play day.

Please be sure to let us know how Lilly is doing.  Lots of hugs for Lilly are on their way.

You have my prayers for little Lilly. I am waiting for an ALD to be born in August and God willing I will have a little Lili too. I hope she is running and playing soon.

Jeanne,  I hope Lilly is better this morning!  We will be looking for an update from you. Sending good vibes for good news!

Your poor puppy. I hope she is feeling better soon. She very well could have an obstruction that is not showing on x-ray. A barium test would be needed to confirm. Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

Keeping everything crossed for Lilly, I will watch or updates.

Hoping for the very best for your Lily! Please update us when you know more.

thanks for all the good wishes and prayers!

vet just called, lilly passed something that was teal in color with fabric.   he saved it for me to identify and prevent this object again.

i'm guessing it's a kotex or a pad.  they now come packaged in bright colors.

i can pick her up in just a few more hours!

we have lever door knobs through out the house, she knows how to open them..  i installed baby (puppy) proof safety locks, maybe "someone" will remember to slide the latch to keep the door closed.

Wow, what a scare. I'm sure glad she passed the "thing". Sounds like Lilly is an explorer so everyone needs to be very careful about what she might reach. You must be very relieved.

Glad to hear that lilly is going to be ok and getting to come home.  You certainly dodged a bullet this time.  Some puppies are worse than others about eating things they shouldn't and it sounds like Lilly is one of them.

When our girls were little they all of a sudden one day decided the water in the toilet was nicer than their water bowls (all over the house).  I asked DH to please put the lid down so they wouldn't.  It was a hard habit to get into and then when we would have company it would get left up again.  So, I put a a note on the inside of the seat lid that said "Unless you like toilet water kisses, put the seat down" just as a reminder to anyone using the potty to put the lid down.  It worked.  Maybe you should put a sign on all your doors that say "Unless you want to pay a $4000 vet bill, slide the safety latch" just as a reminder to anyone in your home to please do so!  I know for me the note was a nice reminder when I otherwise probably would of forgotten.

i love it, toilet water kisses!

maybe i'll put a copy of the bill on the door..

OMD! Thank goodness she is okay.

Thank God she is ok. I am hoping for a complete and fast recovery. I am hoping Lilly will stay off the counters.
