Growth Spurts

[Puppy Madness]

Hudson is 10 months old. He really slowed down in growth, starting at about 6 months. He's only gained a few pounds since then. He had a few bouts of pancreatitis, so that probably didn't help!

Now, at 10 months, he seems to be going through a growth spurt! He has gotten taller, and I'm sure has gained a few pounds (I haven't weighed him).

Has anyone else's doodles gone through a growth spurt around this time? Can illnesses like pancreatitis slow growth for a while? Interested to know when your doodles had growth spurts! :-)

Pippa grew soooo fast in the beginning and the last few months she has only gained a few pounds (she is nearly 7 months). I think she has been 40 pounds for a few weeks now. I actually thought she would be a lot taller than she is. She seems like a shorty compared to the other doodles I see around town. She definitely seems more like a "medium" goldendoodle even though she was said to be a standard. They did say the most she would weigh was 60 or 65 pounds. Seems like she will be more like 50 tops. A fellow goldendoodle owner at the dog park yesterday called her a shorty. RUDE. Ha ha..I'm not really that upset. I do think she is the perfect size for her...and she still fits in my lap!

Ben is supposed to be a medium but hes growing SO fast! he's 5 months since yesterday and hes already 26 lbs!  I come home every day from work to see a slightly larger Ben!

Luna is an F1 mini GD (golden x mini poodle)

She gained up to 2 pounds a week at around 5 months.  At about 8 months she had basically stopped growing, but we noticed she had another growth spurt (in height) at around a year and had started to fill out.

She has topped out at about 36-38 pounds fully grown (2 years old).

Here's her weight at a few different times:

8 weeks - 7 lbs

12 weeks - 12 lbs

16 weeks - 16 lbs

22 weeks - 22 lbs (do you see a pattern here?  She was pretty consistent!)

28 weeks - 28 lbs

6 months - 32 lbs

8 months - 35 lbs

We are seeing nothing but growing out of our double doodle Maggie.  She was 13lbs at 7weeks, 27lbs at 13 weeks and she is still going...I can only hope that what we experience is a slow down.  The vet guestimated over 60lbs for her eventual adult weight.  She will be 16 weeks on August 7th, so we will see how much she has grown then!
