Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
As I started writing this there were 9,578 DK members. There may be more as I finish given my typing skills. Somehow with the Olympics starting this gave me some thoughts about what we are going to do to celebrate 10,000 members. I hope it doesn't happen when some folks are off cruising and boozing or snoozing. It needs to be fun and special and heaven forbid not like the fireworks,
or was it confetti,
that we had for 5,000 members, which messed up the site as I recall. Of course, Adina, OFL (Our Fearless Leader), would have to approve and she may already have a spectacle planned. But it seemed to me we need to start thinking now.

Big toes are different, depending on where the break is in the toe.. sometimes they give you the oh so lovely cast shoe to wear, if its if proximal to the foot enough they have been known to put you on crutches.....
Sorry about your daughter Bonnie.. I hope Jennie is feeling better now.
Bonnie, I'm so sorry to hear about your DD. I hope she was able to get some relief.
I broke 2 toes once and they put me in a cast to my knee for a month!! When they removed it my ankle was so frozen I couldn't even walk! Hopefully medicine has made some advances since then!
Give DD a gentle hug from me and TaraBear!
Hope all your parts are feeling better soon!
Thanks, Ricki!
OMD! You sounds like you have gone through the wars. I hope you heal quickly. hugs and doodlekisses
Thanks, Bonnie!
Oh Karen -- Feet & paw week! From past experience (not mine) the doctor put a wooden splint, like a tongue depressor on the bottom of the broken toe and taped it to the adjacent toe. Walking was not easy but keeping the toe stable reduced the pain. It is a sorry state of affairs when you have to wait a week to see a doctor for a broken bone! I hope you feel better soon. The wagon sounds like the perfect answer to me. Feel better.
Thanks, Christine! That splint is what I'm after.
Remember, I told you it this would take some time, lol.
You can find the date you joined by going to the very first comment on your page, which will be a welcome from Adina and/or one of the Welcome Wagon group.
If you go to the Members tab, and use the "Recently Joined" filter, which is the default setting, the members are in order from newest to oldest. If you click on the very last page, you'll see Adina as member #1 and Clark as #2.
Now randomly click on a page, according to where you think you might fall in the order of joining DK. Randomly click on someone's picture- it's best to choose someone who you don't recognize and who is not too active. That will take you to their page, and you can find the date they joined. That will give you an idea of how close you are. For example, if you joined June 4th, 2010, and this person joined December of 2009, you know you have to go a ways to a lower page number. So you just keep going, checking periodically if needed to see where you're at, always using the "back" button on your browser so you don't lose your place, lol.
Once you find yourself, subtract your page number from the oldest page number. For example, let's say there are 450 pages total (there's more but I can't remember the exact number) and you are on page 200, that's a difference of 250. There are 21 people on a page, so multiply 250 by 21. That's 5250. Add the people on your own page who joined before you, on my page there were 9, so I'd add 9, and that would tell me that I was member #5259.
It was pretty easy for me because I joined only 2 or 3 months after DK started.
My head hurts....
LOL
OMD! How in the WORLD did you ever figure that out!! You really are a genus! LOL
