We are still trying... i have been offered a courtesy post on Pet Finder.. gosh there are 4 pages of kitties. Wish us luck
Several days ago while I sat on our back deck, a very skinny cat appeared at my feet. She was crying, obviously hungry, covered in ticks. My mind fast forwarded to OH NO, NOT HERE! I tried to scoot her away but she just kept coming back to me and rubbing against my legs.
DH picked her up and we discovered that she has no front claws. So of course we had to feed her, had to spray Frontline on her, had to show her where she could get out of the weather. Neither of us cares much for cats (from past experience), and having one in the house will absolutely not happen. I've been posting on lost pet pages on internet, sending emails to everyone I know to please adopt her.
I really don't want to spend money on her...:( She hisses and swats at Monty, which really bugs me. She stands at the back screen door constantly and cries for attention..... Sigh
She really is a lovely cat that needs an indoor home with people that will love her. Please send positive thoughts that a good home can be found.

Thanks for this link. I did call them and they were full. I called another no kill shelter and they were also full. A guy at my workplace works with Furry Friends Network, he allowed me to do a courtesy posting. She was adopted today.
Another thought. It's pretty clear this cat had/has an owner. Years ago, my mom had a similar situation with a very friendly cat who was hanging around her patio on a daily basis. I'm not sure if the cat was wearing a collar or if my mom used something as a temporary collar, but she attached a note to the cat's collar with something like "Do I have a home? If so, please call 123-4567", something like that. The owner actually called her; it was someone who lived in the neighborhood and let her cat wander around outside during the day. So at least my mom knew the cat had a home and food on a regular basis, and she didn't have to worry about her starving to death, at least.
That is a great idea Karen. My sister has a horse farm right on a main road - she gets cats left all of the time but they all live in the barn...I wonder if any really have a home, she should do the same.
If this cat was covered with ticks, I feel like if the cat has a present owner, they are probably an ass so I don't think this kitty would have as happy of a story as your mom experienced.
Very true.
It's very upsetting to know that someone clearly loved this cat once, she had her claws removed (not that agree with that at all), and then perhaps dumped her. Leaving her defenseless in the wild is unforgivable in my opinion, it is a sure death sentence.
I hope someone is missing their kitty and is ever so thankful that you found and took care of her. Thank you from me for minding after her until someone or a new someone wants her.
Just so you know I am a cat lover but one with cat allergies. I love my grandcat (and she is not a nice kitty) and I had two cats in my young adult life. The first one died of kitty leukemia and the 2nd one when I married DH I left with my old roommate and she lived a long long life (to 22) because he is NOT a cat person. I was super allergic but I just dealt with it until I got diagnosed with asthma.
If I could I would take her for you.
I am sure she was dumped and shame on those people for dumping any cat, let alone one with no front claws. Thank you for helping her. We have had cats dumped out here, too. Please don't let her go hungry. She needs your help and hopefully, you can find her a home or at least get her to a shelter. Thank you!!
Oh I could never let her go hungry. Tonight instead of TOTW Prarie formula, she got some *high end cat kibble from the grocery store and...salmon in the can. She is very happy! And as I sit on the deck, she is on my chair.
I hope a nice family want to adopt her...I am not a cat person either but I don't think I could just take her to a shelter for her to be spayed and released back into the "wild", especially with her lack of claws! We had a cat when I was younger that was declawed but she was an indoor cat...she certainly thought she could hold her own with the outdoor cats from our neighbors tho! She would stand on our porch and scare them all away when she was getting her "outdoorsie" time lol
