Some people in my life would say I have too much time on my hands, but yesterday was a very busy day.  Usually, I am home most Friday nights watching Monk and Say Yes to the Dress and lurking on DoodleKisses.  Last night, my daughter treated us to a Reba McIntire concert and I did not have time to get on the computer.  Well, while I was out having fun, the DoodleKisses fairies were busy working overtime and hatching a plan to help a Doodle we all know and love!  This Doodle’s mom just happens to be Karen and the Doodle is none other than our beloved JackDoodle, the only Doodle on here with a law degree.

 

When I first joined DoodleKisses, I joined the Food Group and couldn’t wait to share my knowledge of dog food.  I consider myself to be an expert on almost any topic, so imagine my surprise when Karen let me know Science Diet was “crap on a platter.”  WTD!  How dare this woman who thoroughly researches every dog food known to dogs try and tell me, a woman who walked into Pet Smart and said, “this looks like a good food and I love the dog on the package, too!” how to feed her dogs!  She sure did have a lot of nerve. Don’t even get me started on what she told me when I wanted to put Apple Cider Vinegar on the back of Fudge’s neck.  I couldn’t walk for a week after that encounter.

 

Well, she does have a lot of nerve, and I mean this in a very loving way.  Often times, Karen tells it like it is and doesn’t hold back any punches when it comes to what is right for our dogs here on DoodleKisses.  She works tirelessly to answer questions and even gave me her home phone number when I needed help for a relative that was re-homing their dog.  Karen, I swear I only called you that one time and it was NOT me the other day asking if you had Prince Albert in a can.  She answers the same questions over and over again even when I find myself screaming at my monitor, “there is a search button, people!”  Karen doesn’t get paid to answer all these questions and yet she still does it day after day because she has a wonderful heart and cares about ALL dogs and behind her balls of steels is the driving need to help see that dogs are well cared for and loved.

 

I don’t know about all of you, but I am tired of all these depressing discussions and would like to see all of us “put our money where our mouth is,” and make a difference for a dog that we all know and love. In the past, we have helped dogs we don’t know, dogs we wish we knew, and dogs we just met on DoodleKisses, and now is our chance to help a dog we really love here on DK, our very own Mr. JackDoodle.   JackDoodle is the perfect example of a dog that found the right owner.  Karen walked into a shelter and rescued Jack or as she would probably tell you, he rescued her.  JackDoodle has turned out to be a very expensive fellow with many medical issues and never once has Karen complained, asked for help, or thought about doing anything other than seeing his needs are lovingly met.  Well, Karen, I can’t believe I get to tell you a thing or two and I will start by saying the same thing I tell my stubborn mom who refuses to use a walker, “Listen old lady…pride goeth before a fall!” I only put the old lady part in because I had referenced my mom. :) We know you didn’t ask for help, but we are offering it because we love JackDoodle and you and you had better accept it or else.  I am not afraid of you and I know where you live. A while ago we gave Karen a butt ugly beautiful hand holding a turtle.  Now, it is time to give the Doodle she loves a huge helping hand as our way of saying thank you to his mom who gives so much of her time and knowledge here on DK.   Please click on the link below if you would like to help, too.  Thank you!!

I feel so lost since having the baby I do not get time to get on here unless I have a huge issue with Cocoa.

Did something happen to Jack?  Or just the same on going issues?   Sorry if someone else answered I don't have time to read the pages and pages of reply's with a fussy baby, 9mo old puppy & 4yr old all asking for my attention.

I do want to say THANK YOU Karen!!!   When I was freaking out about Cocoa possibly having Giardia and you made me think outside the box and realized it was just her food and save me hundreds because the vets next step was major testing on poor Cocoa.

I wish I could help more than I did but I know every penny counts when it comes to helping out fur baby's.  I am sure I will have many issues in the future and as always you will be one of the first to respond Thank you in advance ;)

Thanks, Lindsey. Jack already had the two immune-mediated diseases, both treatable but not curable, that we have been dealing with, the second one just diagnosed last December. Now he has something wrong with his lower back. I think all of our friends here feel as bad for him as I do. :)
