I'm always looking for a good, reasonably priced red. I like lighter reds that are slightly tart, or acidic, as the sommelier would say. I hate the heavy ones that taste like ink to me.
I've had some wonderful wines in restaurants, only to find out that you can't buy them in a store; they're only available to the restaurants through distributors.
Here are some of my current favorites:
Folie a Deux Menage a Trois California Red Wine: This one is a blend and very inexpensive.
Cono Sur Pinot Noir: Chilean, I have no idea how it's priced, as I only had two glasses in a restaurant
I am very lucky to have a Coopershawk Restaurant and Winery very close to my house. I love this place!
My favorite Coopershawk reds are the Carignane, the Malbec, and the Lux Meritage. But they only have locations in Illinois and Indianapolis, so this doesn't help many of you. Okay, never mind Coopershawk.
I clearly need some more widely available selections. Please give us some suggestions.

LOL- that's one of my favorites, too. It's mentioned up above in the body of the discussion.
I also just discovered Handcraft Artisan Wines Pinot Noir, which you would absolutely love. It's very soft, light and yummy. A little hard to find, but very reasonably priced.
Folie a Deux Menage a Trois California Red Wine-I saw that above in your post which is why I had to chime in. :) I just wish they sold it in the larger bottles around here. I can usually find it for $7.97 for a 750 ml bottle.
Now that we are headed towards summertime I would love to find a red wine that can be slightly chilled.
I chill most of them, because my rooms are not 60-65 degrees, which is what "room temperature" really means for wine, supposedly. See if you can find the Handcraft, though, it's excellent chilled.
Boy am I glad i just joined this group! I love wine!
I will definitely try Folie a Deux Menage a Trois California Red Wine! I have always seen it but never thought to get it. Not sure why but maybe because the name scared me off.
Karen here are some of my reasonably priced favs...
Carmel Road Monterey County (pinot)
Rodney Strong (pinot and cab)
Napa Cellars (pinot and cab)
La Crema (pinot and cab)
Leslie came to visit JD today, and brought me a bottle of French Pinot Noir; Domaine du Prieure Bourgogne 2009.
Sounds very fancy, I can't wait to try it!
Sounds wonderful!
Ohhhhh how nice!!!! Why wait?
I am going to save it for Yappy Hour, when the MRI is over and my guy is home with me.
I hope I'll be able to be there Karen. Hugs to you!
