Hey all, Ollie has a bump on his stomach. It is not quite as big as a pea. Could this have been from a matt? He had a little matting on his stomach, like he got something on it and then it matted. I probably post too often about really minor things...but I want to catch anything that could potentially be a problem, early.

Sounds like, and I'm guessing here, it's a blemish common in poodles. Real common in poodles.  Have a picture?

Starlit used to get them often.  Whatever you do, don't aggravate the area.   Leave it alone.  They do take a while to go away.

But, honestly, without much information, I don't know

Well, not the clearest picture in the world...Ollie is not the sitting still type.

I figured it could be from matting...

Hard to see, but it looks like a little sore possibly. I would watch it.

Ya...he moves a lot.

too dark to see.  Is it hard, soft, rough, red??

Rachel, do a search on here. There are a few discussions on: Zits, Blemish, acne, sebaceous cysts

Here are a few with pictures

there may be more but these will give you some information

Thank you. I wasn't sure what to search. I'll read these.

One discussion was mine. I was freaked too.  In the end though, my vet smiled and told me, it's a poodle thing. Common.

My fault because I tried to squeeze the dumb thing and it got so bad.  Just leave that one alone  :) Please.

If it really gets to you in a few days, go on in and have it checked. But, don't worry too much tonight

Thanks Joanne. It's always good to know what I am dealing with! It doesn't look too sore or anything. I will take your advice and not mess with it. I just noticed it has been here a couple of days, but its good to know that it's normal for it to take a while to go away.

It sounds like your experience was a bit scary!

J is right, a picture. And we need to know is it hard or soft. Movable under the skin or fixed to it? In the end we won't be sure but you can watch it a while and if it gets worse go to the vet. Maybe it will just disappear.

I posted one...is it not showing up?

I see it now.
