Lump on my doodles head.

My 6 month old Labradoodle was neutered this past Monday and I'm trying to keep him quiet. I'm giving him lots of attention, petting and massages and just found a big lump kinda like a cone shape on the center of the top of his head. I never noticed it before and I pet and brush him everyday. I have a vet appt in 4 and a half hours but am really worried. Do doodles have a cone shaped head and maybe I just never noticed it before. I used to have a Siberian Husky and she had a small lump but its normal for huskies so I'm wondering if this is normal also. He doesn't seem in pain when I touched it and perhaps he banged his head maneuvering with the cone.

Update on Mojo::

The Vet said it was normal and as puppy develops it may change until they are about 3 years old. Many dogs have prominent  bumps and It is not a health concern.

It's probably the saggital crest, also known as an occipital protruberance. Labradors have a very pronounced saggital crest, a ridge of bone on the top of their skulls. You can check with the vet, but chances are that's what you're feeling.

Oh ty Karen, this may be over worrying but I haven't slept well since the neuter as Mojo is restless and I'm feeling dopy. I'm also a bit worried because my husky passed away at 8 years old this past January from an accident and I fear something happening to Mojo. I just googled lumps on Labradoodles and one site said it was a poodle thing. Ugh will calm down and see what the vet says.

Thank you Karen, I realize now its most likely normal but will see the vet anyway in case and he can take a peek at Mojos neuter site.

My Oliver (labradoodle) had a huge saggital crest !!!  Everyone that pets him says "he has big lump on his head, did he hit it or something?"  LOL.  My Sasha (goldendoodle) has one but not nearly as big as my Ollie :)

Baker's skull 'lump' is tall & very ridged...if it's in the center & bony, i'll bet you can relax :)
