We got our little guy today. He's such a sweetheart! I'll be posting pictures soon.
We've tentatively named him Kolsch. He's very laid back, so far. We stopped a few times on the way home and he did his business and then seems happy to just lay down and hang out in the grass. Tail always wagging. He's precious!
Our introduction to our existing dog, Callie (Papillon), went so-so. We introduced them away from the house, and they both seemed interested and OK. We then moved to our front porch. At this point, Callie started acting more scared or nervous about the puppy, than he was to him. We then tried to come inside and Callie gets this nervous drooling that she seems to get when she gets anxious. However, there's not been any growling and snarling. Kolsch pretty much was just chilling out and Callie would approach and sniff, but he if got up or started following her, she would run and then start the drooling.
So, we're just taking it slow. I'm taking it as a good sign that there's not been any real aggressive type moves and both tails still wag. We're giving Callie lots of love and personal attention and hope she starts to come around more.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

if Callie has any bedding on the floor i would pull it up to the sofa or a chair or a place the puppy cant get to. It is the first place they seem to want to pee. Same thing with any toys that are considered Callie's
Kolsch is a cool name btw. ;)
Kolsch is an unusual name. Really cute. Is there some significance, or something special, with the choosing of Kolsch? Congratulations on the addition to your family.
Thanks! Actually, the name "Kolsch" didn't stick - just didn't seem to fit him. So, we're now calling him "Tugboat."
The name Kolsch had come from our recent trip to Cologne, Germany, and they brew a style of beer there called Kolsch. We thought his coloring looked like beer, hence the name. But, after a couple of days home, it just wasn't working so we chose a name that my husband thinks fit him more.
Love kolsch! Always cold, and seemingly never ending refills, and so inexpensive :)
Tugboat is cute!
