Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi Philly neighbors! My husband and I are looking for a minigoldendoodle, preferably f1b due to my husband's allergies.
To ease our worries about allergies, we are wondering if anyone in Philly would be willing to let us meet their doodle so my husband could interact with him? We could meet in a public place that's convenient for you.
Also, any advice on good breeders in the area? We would be willing to drive a few hours. Internet searches have been overwhelming, especially since our needs are so specific. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Becky,
We have a 6 mo old mini-labradoodle that is a multi-gen (3rd or 4th gen - meaing both the parents, & grandparents are all labradoodles). I believe F1b's will shed somewhat and that you should be looking at mult-gens.
Cooper dos not shed one bit. My wife also has allergies and she is fine.
We live in Plymouth Meeting. Although Cooper is not a goldendoodle, you can still meet him if you'd like. Let me know.

It's good to meet some doodles, but keep in mind that not all F1b's are the same. So even if you meet 3 F1b's it may not guarantee that all the doodles in your pup's litter will be equally non-shedding and no dog is truly 'hypoallergenic' since some people are allergic to saliva. Members can't make recommendations publicly but may send you a private message via the site. Don't forget to check out our guide on finding a breeder: http://www.doodlekisses.com/notes/What_To_Look_for_In_a_Breeder -- at the end of the article are lists to look at and you can narrow down the list by geography and type of dog and that will trim it down for you quickly!
Hi Becky!
We have a nearly one-year old Australian labradoodle (ALD) - his birthday is on Friday :-) . He has a wavy fleece coat and does not shed. My husband and two kids have allergies, but have been fine with Darwin. We were also looking for a "hypoallergenic" non-shedding dog. We chose an Australian labradoodle for that reason. Like Ted mentioned, multigens tend to have a bit more predictability in coat (and size).
Although Darwin is a standard ALD (last wt 60 lbs) - not quite what you are looking for, you are welcome to meet him if you would like. We live in Center City.
Our breeder was great - but she only breeds standard ALDs. Her website has links to other breeders if you want to consider a mini ALD.
Good luck!!

Hi Becky,
I live in King of Prussia and would be glad for you to meet Teddy. He is a 1.5 yr old mini. He weighs about 40lbs. We bought Teddy through a private sale. I guess it would be consider a backyard breeder :( If I did it again, I would rescue or go through a reputable breeder.
