DRC got an urgent call from a shelter. A 3 year old doodle was dumped there because their doodle ate a kids sock and had an obstruction. A house filled with kids + they knew their doodle was a sock thief = we can't afford the surgery so please put the doodle to sleep.
REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All our foster homes are filled and this girl needs a home where she can recuperate from her surgery. We don't know much about her other than she was great with their kids. Cannot say if she has been socialized with other dogs but for at least awhile she will need to be kept quiet to recoup from the surgery.
Can anyone help get her out of the shelter and give her a place to lay her head, away from shelter germs and madness, in a home with good groceries and love???\
email me at adriannedrc@aol.com
Thank you!!!!!!!

I look forward to hearing "the rest of the story". Thank you to all who responded to help get this dear doodle out of the shelter and on the way to recovery. It is so hard to believe that a family would do this but it is all too true.
Thank you ever so much Adrianne and Chris, this girl deserves so much more, looking at her made me cry. 3 years old, she must be so confused. Daisy would not understand this at all, she is so loved. She is perfect to me.
I hope her forever home loves her as much as we all love ours. I am certain they will because of the DRC.
Donna, Bliss is the PERFECT name.
That so called family is awful!!!!!
Exactly Jennifer!! It is truly amazing how a group of humans (notice I didn't say people) who really don't know each other except through the written word can come together with 1 purpose - save the life of an innocent doodle. It never truly surprises me but every time I am humbled by the love and support that everyone here in DK gives those doodles!!!
Lucy is now at her foster home. The animal control had trimmed her so she looks a lot better than this picture, but she is very very skinny!!. She and Gretje are getting to know each other. Lucy has already shown signs of tearing up toys, so she will have to be watched like a hawk. They are running and gunning now so I hope a good nights sleep will be forthcoming. Pictures to follow tomorrow. It has been a long travel day..
Thank you for everything, Chris! Lucy is a very lucky girl with a bright future, thanks to you!
Here are pictures of Lucy now that she is safe. We had a good night, she is full of energy, no signs of trauma from the surgery. Just needs lots of love and 'food'.
Thank you so much! Oh my....she is so thin, but at least she is safe and with you :)
