Does anyone own a waterproof camera and what are your thoughts on the one you have? My DD has many cameras, but wants a waterproof one for Christmas. Any help or guidance would be appreciated! Thank you!!

I don't have one. But I think if your DD one, and you are good to her, which may be difficult for you considering the photography slave you've made her into, she might let you borrow it for the next cruise : )
Poor Hayley!! She is so mistreated. I love the name "photography slave." LOL
Hey Laurie,
MY husband just got us one, but haven't had the chance to try it out yet. It would have been perfect for the trip. It's a panasonic TS20 LUMIX. he did a bit of research and it got good reviews. He also bought a foam type of wrist band that will keep the camera afloat if you accidently drop it in the ocean. Maybe if the girls go swimming today I will brave it and see if I can get some underwater shots of Mali diving for her ball.
Hope you are both doing well. I've been so busy since we got back. I'm finally feeling better and have a few days off so I can download and post some of the pic's from the trip. Have a great weekend! Eva
Hi Eva, Let me know what you think after you take some pictures. I think I saw the one you mentioned. I am glad you are feeling better and it was great meeting you on the cruise!!!
My sister and I are avid scuba divers and the most popular underwater (point and shoot) cameras for recreational divers is probably Canon. Pros use DSLR with huge (expensive) housings and about 2 external light sources.
My sister's been using the Canon G9 for a few years now and I think it's great. (the latest model is Canon G15 if I'm not mistaken). The other popular model is the Canon S110 which is very compact and takes great pictures.
Here's a blog that reviews both the G15 and S110 together http://www.photographyblog.com/news/canon_powershot_g15_s110_and_sx...
Here's what the housing for those cameras look like
G- series WP-DC34 Housing
S1XX series (Canon's WP-DC43 and Ikelite's housing for S100)
Will post sample pictures from G-series and S-series for you later.
Wow, Kimmy, I had no idea you do this. Awesome!
We just learned something new and interesting about you, Kimmy!
Wow...these pictures are amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time to post them.
Wow~ Wonderful. It is so beautiful underwater and to be able to capture the view is just remarkable.
Thank you, Kimmy. This helps me out a lot :) I like that it is a Canon.
