Limping but no sign of pain

Hey there! Bella Kai started limping last night, we played ball outside and then about 20 minutes later after coming in she was limping on her back leg. I squeezed every part of it and her feet and toes but she never winced or cried.

Should I be worried that she is still limping this morning? Mainly after she gets up. She still wants to play and run and jump but it is clear something is not right.

 

Would you go the vet? What should I do? I want to have her rest but there is no way we are gonna get through this day without some exercise, it is 8:30 and I can barely get through this email because she has a ball in her mouth and is ready to go! ;)

When my Sasha was about a 8-9 months old she started limping a bit after a good game of freezbe.  She can jump really high.  I too felt all over her body and there was no indication of any injury.  The next day she was still limping, I took her to the vet and he could find nothing wrong, took x-ray etc.  I was told to rest her for a couple of days and gave her baby asprin.  After a few days of rest she was find.  I think she just jumped too high and landed funny.  It happend again a few months later... and I just rested her for a few days and she was fine.  I no longer throw the freezbe really high anymore.

Bella went to the Dr and he did all the knee, hip and examined her feet and good news! Her knees and hips are ok. She had injured her 4th toe on her left hind leg and it was pretty lax. She is still limping but he said he doesnt think it is broken, but if she doesnt get better in a week to come back in for xrays.

 

Phew what a relief to know it was not an ACL. Thank you all for your caring thoughts and advice!

Whew! Breathing a sigh of relief along with you!  Now the tricky part...getting her to let it rest for a few days! :)

I'm glad you have an answer and it sounds like it's not serious. Hope Bella's toe heals quickly!
