I just finished watching the Governor of CT (who has already declared a State of Emergency) talk about Sandy as the worst storm to hit CT EVER.  They are talking now about waves up to 11 ft as they hit shore, torrential rains and 70 mile per hour winds.  New Jersey and coastal NY are equally bad.  I'm praying that everyone stays safe over these next couple of days.  The best news is that some towns were not going to allow pets into the shelters and there was such a huge backlash that they have now lifted those restrictions.  I also just read that NYC is allowing pets on public transportation for the evacuation.   I'm hoping that people will check in tomorrow and Tuesday if you can to let us all know that you are okay.  They are saying that in our State power is likely to be out for several days.  The bizarre thing is that it was one year ago to the day that we went through the same thing with that blizzard that took power down for eight days.

Its getting very windy here in central NJ now (7:00 a.m),  My job is awesome.. no work for Monday & Tuesday they want everyone to be home and safe with their families.  I'm a bit worried !!!  The doodles can sense my nervousness :(

Pets not being able to go with their owners is the number one reason people stay behind. Dangerous.  Thank goodness, after Katrina, things have begun to change.  People, get out that old crate, pack water, a weeks worth of food, blanket, and vet records and leave it ready just in case!

Bonnie, down in the lower right of the screen there is a box that says "Main Room".  It is empty now but during Yappy Hour there will be a red number in the box stating how many people are in the room chatting or yapping in this case. If you click on the box a window will open with a chat box. Then you just join in the fun!  It starts at 8pm Eastern time on Fridays so it is fairly early  5 pm (usually during dinner) our time.

Thanks, Tara. Then is it like everyone who is online just types in whatever. I've never done a live chat with more than one person. It sounds like it could be fun! I hope I remember on Friday since Joanne is taking attendance. ;o)

So far everything is okay here in CT.  Everything is closed though....schools, State, even the large companies.  It's supposed to start getting bad this afternoon.  How's everyone else?

Same here, wind comes in waves. Everything is shut down also. Take care.

Everything is ok in Philadelphia. Raining & windy, but not bad yet. I don't think it'll get bad until later tonight possibly. All roads into the city have a 45 mph speed restriction. My apt building has generators so the lobby & hallways will still have power. All I keep thinking is how hard this would be for a puppy, thank goodness I don't have mine yet!

Some of my family in NJ, close to Atlantic City, are being stubborn, staying home when they should go somewhere else.
