Spud's foot is bothering him. This toe could be red from licking or we think it may be this nail. The nail is all Quick? I really don't know much about dog's nails. Anyone? Opinion
Should the nail's quick look like this?
The rest of the nails do not look like this at all.
But he seems to be licking all through this area from toe all the way up
This nail may have always looked this way. I have no idea and I can't remember.

Hi Joanne, I picked up a product called Earthbath Hot Spot and Itch Relief. It is all natural with tea tree oil, vitamin E, oatmeal etc. May provide some soothing/relief for Spud. I think I would take him to be checked at the vet tomorrow if I were you. If he is being moody, it must really be bothering him. Best thoughts.
Here is a link to the Earthbath product: http://www.earthbath.com/spritz/spritz-tea.php
Oh Spud, good luck! It looks like a doozy.
Hoping to hear that Spud's paw is better today. We would put a sock on it and keep him from licking it at least. We also have given Benedryl to calm the itching.
How's Spud today? And your DS of course.
We are slowly waking up. He was right back at the foot but his mood is good. I am giving a Claritin now and looking into these suggested anti-itch products.
DS just sent a message with " Wonderful" so the Eye Bandage ( contact lens) must still be in place and he is still getting relief.
Thank You all and Good Morning.
Hoping home remedies hold you all until tomorrow. Why does this stuff always happen on the weekends? arrgh!
Thanks Bonnie,
I spent Friday night, all day Saturday, and tomorrow also on my son and an eye injury. Spud kind of has been put on the back burner as far as vet appointments the past few days. He just didn't triage priority compared to DS eye.
So I rely on my DK recommendations and support until I can get him vetted. Thanks
So sorry to hear about your DS's eye problem, eyes problems are scary things indeed. Glad to hear he's on the mend though.
Ditto this. Hope your DS's eye is okay!
Eye injury? Now that is scary! Hoping your DS is improving. A doodle toe can wait till tomorrow for sure.
Truly, I do know that covering the eye/cornea makes for the difference between unbearable and not too bad. Corneal injuries can heal fast and I hope his does.
