Hurricane Check In
Okay, East Coasters.... when you can please check in with us. I'm up in the middle of the night on the west coast, watching the news and wondering how all of you are doing!

Shelly lives very near my MIL on Long Island....nearly all power is lost in her area....and the worst part is phone is out as well. We've had a heck of a time keeping track of my MIL. DH's son lives half hour or so from her and has used most of his gasoline driving over to convince her to go home with him...he has power and heat...and she absolutely refuses. He's brought her wood for her fireplace and warm food. She's 84 and as wonderful as she is she has us all exasperated with her stubbornness. It looks like it may be several more days for the power to come back in that area.

It's so hard to hear that those working to rescue others have lost their lives. Carol, you must be so grateful for your stepson. My elderly parents have that stubborn thing going, too. Sigh.

We have power back although many in my county are still out. 132 hours no power builds character :)

Diane, Jersey & Jasmine - she has been posting on FB. Not sure if she is home
Dana, Mac and Lucy are also posting on FB.
Looks like we won't have power until the end of the week. Paws crossed sooner but it isn't looking that way. All around us have power but the grid we are on seems to cover a homes on several streets. Bizarre! I am so grateful to be safe, home didn't have any damage but I really, really want to go home! I miss it. The doodles have been fantastic and even let me share their bad!
