Great idea, Joanne. And you can pay the surrender and the adoption fees and use them as a tax deductible donation. Win Win!

adoption fees aren't deductible because you are getting something in return. and i wouldn't think that surrender fees would be deductible either since you are basically paying DRC to take your dog and not giving them a regular donation. Although i'm sure plenty of people have probably tried!
