Hello my Chloe might possibly have Panosteitis, going to the vet tomorrow to know for sure. After researching and researching what causes this disease high protein, calcium, phosphorous could possibly be one of them. I am sure that if it is Pano that the vet will try and give me one of there recommended foods (which i do not want) but if he thinks strongly that food could be the cause i am willing to change to a lower protein formula. Right now she is on Acana Wild Prairie, any feedback is welcome about the levels i should look for in a food that is a little lower on the protein, calcium, phosphorous scale. Or if anyone has experienced pano and what food worked best for this disease.

Baxter is having surgery this afternoon. The Ortho doctor said he has OCD (not that kind!) in his shoulder and can be repaired with 100% recovery. The surgery is microscopic with a 6 to 8 week recovery period. The doctor was very thorough with his explanation to us and even showed us a video clip of an actual surgery so that we would understand what would be done. He will have to stay overnight but will be able to come home tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for your well wishes.
Judie
Hope the surgery goes well.
good luck Baxter!!
Baxter just got home from the hospital. His surgery was a complete success. The Orthopedist said that with a few weeks Baxter will be back to running and playing, this time with any pain. I was very impressed with the services of Sage Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care in Concord CA. I was even provided with a DVD of the actual surgery. Baxter and I appreciate all of your comments and well wishes.
What great news! Here's to a speedy and uneventful recovery for Baxter!
