Hello Everyone! Does anyone ever take their doodle to the dog park near the Schuylkill Trail? (http://www.phillyfido.org/)? I have taken Duncan there a few times and he loved it, but I haven't seen a lot of doodles. Are their other places around Philadelphia/New Jersey that you take your dudes?

Hi Theresa,
Darwin and I are in that park every day - sometimes twice a day. We go every morning after we drop the kids off at school. Darwin has a bunch of doggie friends including some doodles. And we often make a second trip in the late afternoon/early evening. We have also been to Timber Creek Park in NJ (on Chews Landing Road). It is a very different experience from the Schuylkill park - more off-leash walking through the woods (really no dog-dog play), but Darwin loves it. I have heard good things about Freedom Park in NJ (maybe Medford?) - hoping to go soon.
In April (yes, months away), there is a great doodle romp at Dewey Beach. I think that there were over 100 doodles - lots of fun. Definitely worth the drive!!
We actually went here yesterday: http://www.cheltenhamtownship.org/pView.aspx?id=2654&catid=29. I was really nice!
We are in King of Prussia so we take long walks in Valley Forge Park. We also visit Harford dog park in Radnor and unofficial dog park called Teegarden park.
Is there a website or contact about doodle romp in Dewey? We are there! We took Teddy to Assateague beach this summer and had a blast. I LOVE dog friendly beaches.
The website for the Dewey Beach doodle romp is http://www.doodlesindewey.com. LOTS of fun! Haven't seen any news yet about the 2013 romp.
it is the last weekend in April every year. make your reservations early. hard to find nice places that take doodles.
Thanks! We'll be there!!
Is the Schuylkill park open now? I know they had been doing major revisions. I will be getting my puppy in August and either living in University City or Center City close to the park, so I'll be checking it out. It looks like a fantastic option for an off leash park, or to practice long leash training.
It sure is! They had a small area opened during the construction, but now it is complete with the turf and benches. They did a great job with it :).
