Install missing plugins

I have resisted posting this question but frankly it is driving me nuts.

For about a month now when I get on DK inevitably I get the dreaded "Additonal pluggins are required to display all the media on this page" when I try to install missing plugins it then says missing plugin not available. WHAT the doodle?

Is this just me or are others having this same issue?

Let me know if the pink boxes have disappeared. I may have an explanation.

I wasn't having the issue with the pink boxes this time around. Had it a few months back, along with the disappearing posts, etc.

Yesterday, it started again. :-(

Well let me know if it's gone. My new information wouldn't explain why you got it back yesterday after a few months of not having it though.

Here is the attempt from my work computer - Firefox

Actually, if I am at work more time than not I am following a discussion and not replying to responses so I haven't really noticed it that much. If I just pop on I try to reply to responses and it seems I always get the pink box.

I thought maybe we had a fix for this. Camilla noticed that the pink box was showing up with my discussions and responses. So she had her DH take a look since he is a programmer. He noticed, by using html, don't ask, that there was extra code embedded in things I wrote and it mentioned Dragon. Dragon is a dictation program that I use on my laptop to dictate long reports I do for work. So I disabled the extension in Firefox and started a test discussion. Camilla said she did not get a pink box. But apparently the pink boxes are still appearing for some people so I have no idea anymore. I have had this program on this laptop and all of my computers, except my tablets of course, for many years. Both Dragon and Firefox periodically update things and I know Firefox had a major upgrade lately.  I want to thank Camilla and Jacob, who clearly are observant and very smart to boot. 

I also disabled the DK toolbar extension, which I wasn't using, just in case. Maybe that will help with something. On a brighter note I I can suddenly upload photos into discussions again. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the above since I tried with either one or both enabled and I still could upload. Go know.

At any rate if my Dragon extension was causing any problems for anyone I am very sorry but it was totally inadvertent. Camilla and Jacob worried that the fact that a program could insert code into DK might make DK vulnerable to attack But Jacob said that Ning has protection against Java code insertion which is a good thing.

So that is my report as of now. I will put this in the discussion I started about Firefox as well.
