I've noticed many changes in the way I do things as I get older, or maybe it's just since I've had dogs. Things expand to fit the free time you have. So just the ADL, Activities of Daily Living as they are known in the care trade, soon take most of the day. Any appointment before noon is a major hassle and 1pm is preferable. Especially if you are a night owl like me.

and there's WWF

Whoops, wrong WWF

So I've made a new rule that you can only plan one major, and major is very relative, thing a day and sometimes that is too much. If I go to my office for a few hours that's it. If I'm cooking for company, a rarity nowadays , I shop the day before. Mostly if I need to return invitations I take people out. So much more relaxing and the food is better : )

I no longer wear a watch but maybe that's partly because I always have a clock or cell phone nearby. I no longer balance checkbooks, which I did fanatically in years gone by, because who wants to waste however much time I have left on that. I once found a mistake the bank made for one penny, all the other mistakes were mine.

Some of the things I have begun to do and stopped doing will not be discussed in polite company. But one major change I've made is that I no longer stop myself much from expressing my opinion. So I find myself writing emails to CEOs, sometimes ranting and sometimes merely requesting things politely. Today I felt like writing to Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple so I did:

"Smiley for IPAD
Dear Mr. Cook,

I recently got an IPad mini and I love it. One thing that would make my life and the lives of all social media users, easier would be a smiley face that was accessible with one step like the apostrophe is when you slide on the ,! key. Surely this would be  easy for your programming gurus. The way I've been doing it takes a lot of effort.

Someday Flash would be lovely too.

Thanks for your consideration,"
F....... ............
One of my mottos in life is, "How can I make life easier for myself given who I am? " What have you done along these lines?

And now that I see how much easier life is with Google Chrome I may have to use it. I am writing this on Chrome since it is almost impossible for me to upload images to DK otherwise using Firefox since they disabled Java.  But first I'll have to write to Java to see when the security issues are really going to be fixed. And then I'll have to find out how to put the tabs under the taskbar. Ah, life is complicated : )

Maybe Vera Bradley sells them :)

People will do videos, or even discussions on anything ; )

I'm pretty sure the last thing I ironed was a maternity jumper.

Oh no, I can and have let go of a lot of things, but my iron will never be one of them.  Someone better be in charge of ironing my clothes in the nursing home!  I hate wrinkles.  I iron my PJ bottoms, my workout clothes, I even iron the collar scrunchies I put on the girls!  For years before hotels had irons and ironing boards I traveled with my iron!

Please tell me you don't iron your underwear and socks!! I had a friend that ironed both and it was a scary thing to behold! LOL!

no, no underwear or socks (unless it is like long underwear like Cuddle Duds or something like that).  No sheets or towels (maybe a pillowcase if it is really wrinkled).

Whew!

Good gracious.

Ha ha, I hear ya, I wouldn't go without ironing either ! However not underwear, sheets or jammies though.

LOL.

Growing up, sheets were ironed at our house. I was the youngest. Guess who got that fun job. When we got married I said to my DH, "I hate ironing sheets!" He said, "Then why do you do it?" Haven't ironed a sheet since then. Unfortunately he wears dress shirts to work and due to a downturn in our personal "economy" I have been ironing his shirts again. There are ten waiting to be ironed right now. Can I burn them instead?

Ha!
