Not sure that's ugly, exactly - but just kind of weird. Like you expect him to start talking to you. I think at least part of it has to do with the whites of the eyes being so big.
I think he would look cute once his hair grows out.
I'm surprised at the DK replies. Do you really think he is ugly? I am constantly telling my children that people are born with blond hair, or black skin, or dyslexia, or diabetes, or smart brains, or athletic bodies... We didn't get to choose what we look like - just like Tonik. I'm glad he has a second chance.
No, he is not ugly - just a bad grooming job. And, you are right, we do not get to choose what we look like. I too taught my son that people are people, no matter what they look like, the color of their skin, hair, eyes, intelligence, whatever. I think doodles are a good example of the wide variety that exists in the world. It is all DNA and then how we as individuals respond.
Someone will love this dog because of it's oddity, personally not my choice but I certainly wouldn't tell it's new owner he is ugly.
I wouldn't either, but I don't think I would say that he is cute. I would probably go with the "oh, I love his personality or it is so cute when he...."
I agree that it is important for children to be taught that people are not all the same but being different is bad or wrong. I do think it is different with an animal though. This dog looks how he looks and he shouldn't be treated badly because of it; however, I don't think that people have think that he is cute. I don't think that anyone was being mean or picking on him. it is just that when you look at a dog the first thing you notice is how a dog looks before you get to see his personality.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I don't think this dog is particularly ugly, but I have thought that of some. Hair color and skin color on its own doesn't make a difference to me but there is science that shows that certain looks or features are naturally found to be more attractive. Discrimination or unfair treatment, meanness is always wrong, but we can't possibly find all people equally physically attractive...same for dogs.
I don't think he's ugly. Just a little different looking.

Not ugly but sad looking in my opinion. And yes it is a good thing to teach your children to accept others for who they are on the inside and not what they are on the outside.
This post was not an insult to the dog but rather a way to look at how curious a dog can turn out.
IMO this blend is not a "cute" result but rather very curious.
