So on tis website K9 for human training or something like that they have a link about the benefits of coconut oil for dogs.....anti cancer, joints, skin, weight control etc.....I actually use coconut oil for myself...I honestly just eat it because its a healthier oil....

What always pulls on my heart strings is the fact it can prevent cancer...besides for an accidental death..this is my fear for Jack.....

I was going to post in food group...but I think this is supposed to be a supplement, One teaspoon per 10 pounds?????

Thoughts????

Camus loves it, but I do not give it to him on a regular basis. What I have is organic virgin coconut oil.

I realize this may be perceived as a holistic approach ..but I personally believe so e whole foods are key for our health...not saying that about coconut oil....why do you only give it once in a while?????

I doubt Jack would eat it, he is pretty dang fussy. I just like to know different options....I also like to know different people's thoughts on things.

I bought some recently and use it on my hands (I always seem to have them in water), it feels great and Camus always tries to lick them after I use the oil.  So I offered him some and he really liked it, but since I do not know of any research, beyond what various websites claim, I did not want to let him have it on a regular basis.

It could be a good moisturizer and taste good : )

Where is the scientific research showing that coconut oil can prevent cancer...or provide any of the benefits you mentioned? I have not found any studies that show this.

There are lots of foods with anti cancer properties, but I'm not sure anything has been proven to prevent cancer for sure. Coconut oil is the popular thing today but I'm unconvinced it is the miracle it is touted to be.

I saw a quip from Dr. Oz on GMA, he is touting it for health. He said use it wherever you use butter. He suggested frying your eggs in it. Ha ha, can't imagine doing that.

I am not an Oz Guru or anything I just wondered about it especially since trying the satisfaction diet and unable to tolerate swallowing olive oil.

I was going to look into it and forgot until I saw this post.

I sadly suspect this is hokum.

Could well be, but it feels good on my hands:)

Yup, I just wrote that it might be a good moisturizer but that's far different than preventing cancer.

I agree.....
