I went to PetValu to buy kitty litter and there was a 3 year old cat from the humane society there begging to be taken home. She was so pretty and affectionate and playful and my Kitty would have just loved her.

It would be completely irresponsible and impulsive for me to get another cat. I can't afford anymore pets, not to mention the fact that I am turning into a crazy animal lady. The pet store clerks reminded me that we are alowed 5 per household in this city. grrrrrr.

I need to be talked down fast! let me hear your best "no-more-kitties" argument!

Sherri, if your Kitty is like our 2 indoor cats even when they go outside to play on the deck they still come inside to do their business in the litter boxes. :-o

darn. lol!

they told me she's fine with dogs. :(  /  :)

Here is my take on it (and since I'm not really a cat person it is easy for me).  Having another cat will take away from the budget for the Doodles!  Just say NO!

Sherri, saying no is easier since you left. You do not want to do it on impulse. Wait a couple of days, if she is half as sweet as you think someone may have already have gotten her. If you are still thinking about her maybe it was meant to be....but like Sheri said, one more cat keeps you from having one more doodle - ha ha

Sherri,

I go through this everyday.  Everyday.   You have to ask yourself, " Am I being a responsible pet owner?"   Something we here at DK ask all the time. Right? It seems as though DK has brought out the best in us.  We know what it takes ( or  have a better idea now), we know the costs, we know we need food, insurance, vetting, etc.

Just weigh the risks.  I'm not saying no or yes.  I already know you know these questions.

If you can handle that question honestly, then you know the answer.

Another question. Are you getting the kitty for the Kitty?  Or for yourself?

For me!

Ok Reason #1 Why I should not get this sweet kitty is my asthma and Winston's allergies!

Sounds like you already have your answer then....if not for you but for Winston.

I have asthma and am highly reactive to most cats. My daughter has a cat and I can tolerate her but not for long. I would never risk getting a cat, no matter how sweet.

Maybe this will help...when I got Miss Beasley I got her for 2 reasons, one she needed a home and 2 I thought my other cat Winston would just love her and he was lonely.  NOT!!!!! Both cats lives were a living hell until Winston passed away of cancer.  They hated each other .  Your Kitty has two doodles...chances are she has enough company and doesn't really want another kitty.

Sounds like a nightmare. I certainly wouldn't want this to happen in my peaceful home.

Sherri....don't make me come up there!  You cannot afford another animal.  Period.  Now go have a glass of wine.
