F1 Goldendoodle coat changes?

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are getting a F1 Goldendoodle puppy in end of March or beginning of April. We are hoping to bring home a dark apricot pup. I know there is no guarantee on how the coats will end up, each Goldendoodle seems to be different! We love the shaggy wavy or straighter, ragdoll look! Do you have pictures that shows your Goldendoodles coat changes? What did your puppies coat look like at 7 or 8 weeks and how has he/she changed? I want to know what to look for. The mom is a dark apricot Golden Retriever and the dad is a cream standard Poodle. Thanks, yall! :))

His coat reminds me of my childhood dog - Yoshi the Bichon Frise.  She had ringlets ALL over her body... a nightmare for grooming.  Thankfully she was only about 12 lbs. so not much surface area to groom!

Yes!  Exactly.  A nightmare. That is why I maintain it in ringlets otherwise he just looks like a GIANT Bichon Frise.

Yoshi's hair was mostly shaved so she had short ringlets, but we kept her head with the more traditional "pouf".  I'm sure if you just brushed Spud's head with a wire brush and nothing else he might look a bit like her :p

Spud at 11 weeks should have been commissioned for modeling. You missed your chance at fame and riches, I fear. Although I would most assuredly purchase anything Spud advertised as an adult, too. Spud, you are just so kissable.

Here's the exact opposite to Spud - an F1 goldendoodle with a retriever coat.

Luna at 7 weeks.  Notice the complete lack of "fluffiness" around her eyes and the VERY short, straight hairs on her legs.

And at 1.5 years old.  We have never had her trimmed (I do some minor sanitary/paw trimming, but nothing on her body).  Her hair stops growing and falls out (sheds) at about 1-2" in length on most of her body.

She's very retriever looking! Beautiful girl! Is the shedding pretty heavy? It looks  like she has more retriever in her, which I read means they shed more. She also darkened as she got older! Thanks for posting! :))

Thanks :) She sheds quite a bit, but she's fairly small (35 lbs - her dad was a mini poodle).  The bonus to the shedding is that she doesn't really need much grooming at all since her coat doesn't mat.  I think the shedding would be more obvious if she were bigger or had a longer coat like a "traditional" shaggy doodle coat.
